2 TIER MACHINE AGE CAST IRON INDUSTRIAL LEGS TABLE BASE KENNEY + WOLKINS
This is a very nice 2 tier or multi tier antique cast iron base that was made by Kenney Bros. Wolkins Inc. of Boston MA. It would make a great stand or end table and was originally part of an early school desk. It measures 29 1/2" high x 23" deep. The base is 11" wide x 16" deep, the bottom tier is 16 1/2" from the floor and is 9 1/2" in diameter, the upper tier is 29 1/2" from the floor and is 10" wide x 8 1/2" deep. Other than some surface rust it is in good condition. This auction is for one stand. It is available for pickup or can be shipped by Fed Ex ground. The paino was in an old home in New England, and since Chickering was in Boston, I believe these are orginal Chickering. My husband took these off a SQUARE GRAND PIANO that was being scraped. The hinge on the rights pin is half way out and needs to be pounded back in. I put some water on the right hinge to bring out the details. The hinges would have been door hinges for a very old cabinet. They measure 2 1/2in tall x 3 1/2in wide, opened flat. These aren't trunk hinges, and would have gone on a door. Vintage Cast Iron Drop Leaf Table Support Pat. Jan. 2. 1883 Hi! I have up for auction a vintage cast iron drop leaf table support. As mentioned above. It probably used to be copper plated; on the underside there is trace evidence of the plating, but it is almost entirely worn off. It is embossed with a patent date of Jan. 2, 1883. There are two"nubs" on it that I believe are to secure a good strong spring, so when opened it can't easily buckle. I experimented with a spring that is not strong enough for the support's intended purpose, but gives a good idea how it is supposed to work. It is made of four parts with three hinges. There are two pictures of it that make it look rusty. But those are not accurate in color. There is minor surface rust on the inside of the middle hinge. It is fully functional, and kind of fun to handle, ... morebut I believe it can go back to work if you want it to. It measures about 13-1/2" overall. I gave these legs a quick wipe down with a cloth to remove any loose surface dirt or dust. These adjustable Kenney Bros& Wolkins Boston Mass legs are made of solid cast iron. The height on this set adjusts from 15 ½” at the lowest setting and 20” at the highest setting. The top brackets have a span of 7 6/8” across and each side measures 3 ½” long and is 1 1/8” wide. There are 4 pre-drilled holes in the top brackets. 2 on each side. The bottom has a span of 12” and there are two pre-drilled holes in each ... morefoot. These legs stands on their own. The legs are marked on the front curved leg piece near the bottom with KENNEY BROS& WOLKINS BOSTON MASS and 3L and 3R on the cross bar. Respectively. The top portion of each leg is also marked 3L or 3R, along with No. 7 and lined increments going down with the numbers 6, 5, 4, and 3. The leg that is marked 3L has a manufacturing flaw in the cast iron on the top curved support brace.it is not a crack and is in no danger of coming apart or not holding weight. Set of 2 Antique Art Nouveau Cast Iron Coat Hooks - Hall Tree Hooks - circa 1905
This is a matched set of 2 antique cast iron coat hooks from the early 1900s. They are in good original condition and have a copper finish. They are very patinated. They do need a good clean up and have some light surface rust. Each hook is about 7.25" wide. 5" high and stands out about 3.25" from the mounting surface. The hooks can be mounted on a board. PAIR OF FRENCH ANTIQUE 72 1/8" TAPERED PIN CAST IRON BED RAILS. AND TWO CROSSBARS. The rails are in very good vintage condition. With minor rust. They are solid and sturdy. The rails are 72 1/8" long. Pin is 1 3/4" high; top of pin is 13/16" wide. And bottom of pin is 1/2" wide.
