It is a great table dating from the 1870s to 1880s. I am confident that it has had an overcoat applied at some point in its past, but it has a warm mellow touch to the medium walnut stain finish. The table consists of walnut and mahogany. It is all hand carved with the floral arrangements on the serpentine skirts and cabriole style legs. The four legs are joined together with cross stretchers in the center with a huge center finial that is an open cup. The overall size is 36 inches long, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good and tight. There are a couple of minute chips on the marble that we will detail out prior to shipping.

Inlaid with fine marquetry work, the musical instruments central to the commode are flanked on either side by books hanging from knotted ribbon. Two large drawers make up the case, each fully dovetailed front and back, exposed on the sides. Crisp gilt bronze mounts grace the corners and feet, allowing the cabriole legs to terminate in lion paw feet. It came out of a Belgian ... morecontainer, and has two columns with curved doors underneath to reveal shelves, hand-cut dovetail curved drawers that are banded and pinstriped and still retain their original brass hardware, and beautiful and unusual rose colored quartz marble pieces. Behind the two columns is a full-length mirror in the center flanked by two shapely beveled glass mirrors. It’s in its original medium amber finish, and dates from the 1920s. The overall size is 53 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 67 inches tall. The chair space is 19.5 inches wide, and 15 inches deep. The original finish is in remarkably fine condition with minor mars at the edges and very little wear. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Embossed bronze hardware and beveled shaped mirrors are original. This is an antique dresser with a beveled marble top(marble recently replaced) and candle-stands flanking the large mirror in the middle. The greatest thing about this piece is the decorative top that attaches via pegs to the top of the mirror(see pics) It has rolling wheels on the bottom. So it's easy to move around. The top can be removed from the bottom via screws on the back of the mirror. All in all. I'd say it's in good condition, but has been stored and of course needs a good cleaning. This dresser is Art Nouveau style with rosettes on the corners and beautifully carved accents. The mirror is framed by burled veneer and sits on top of bow front style dovetail drawers with glass pull knobs. The dresser is topped with white and gray marble that has a bull nose edge on the front and sides. The left front corner of the marble is ... morechipped on the bottom side. There are no other breaks. Chips or cracks in the marble that I can see. There are some discolored spots on the marble that may polish out. The base dresser has ribbed trim on the front and paneled sides. There are 4 dovetail drawers with metal pulls. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. There are some splits in the veneer around the mirror and peeling on the front left corner of the top piece. There is a split on the right side panel of the top piece as well. There are typical nicks and dings on the wood that tops the bow front drawers. This piece is in good overall condition for its age. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. The chest or base measures 28 5/8 inches tall, 42 inches side to side and 18 inches front to back. It weighs 70 pounds. The marble top measures 7/8 inches thick, 42 inches side to side and 18 1/18 inches front to back. It weighs 59 pounds. Fresh from local Estate we a pleasure to offer you this beautiful high quality first half of 20th century inlaid and bronze mounted marble top French Commode. The inlay is pleasant. Featuring a bow ties and garland that breaks over 2 large drawers, bows placed behind the handles(hardware) Note the quality of the bronze, feet capped with terrific pedestal like mounts. The marble is dark gray, with"clouds" of lighter veining. Please see the photos of the back, and more importantly of the drawers and locks, so you can see the quality of the secondary wood and dovetailing. Drawers slide in and out like skates, no warping or any such issues. The drawers are inlaid in fine bandings and mother of pearl dots, with rosette and wreath brass pulls. The doors and sides are in another fine inlay banding. The case is on fluted and partial gilted legs. The center bow doors open to pull forward gliding mahogany drawers, the side doors to compartment with a stationary shelf. Dresser measures 37-1/2" tall by 51-1/2" wide by 24" deep at center. Excellent condition: without chips or cracks(minor chip to edge of left center door) original finish, veneers and inlays complete. Pretty dresser that I picked up from an estate sale for a man that was the organist at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Ca. It is in great vintage condition. There are some minor discoloration in the marble and two small holes where a mirror probably sat. The wood is in good condition for its age. One of the keyholes is missing the wood plug(probably removed due to a loss of the key) This piece has served me well but I purchased a different one. Antique Dresser With Inlay And Kidney Marble Top
Lovely dresses with beautiful detail inlay and kidney bean marble top the dresses has had some upgrades in the drawers and full wood had been replaced. There is additional work to be done on the exterior where the would had fallen off and that had been taken into consideration when pricing this furniture that sells into the mid five figures when restored. I believe it is of Italian origin. It can be viewed in Hiney Hole antiques in Keyport New Jersey on west front street the corner of Broad Street. The dealer is listed as MBA Local pick up only.
