Antique Cast Iron Claw Ball Feet Bath Tub Foot Bathtub Vintage Set of 4 Must See
I have a complete set of four ball and claw style feet for free standing bath tubs. These are very heavy cast iron. Each foot weighs about 3 pounds! Here are a couple of measurements for you: Height: About 6.5 inches Width at claw and ball: About 3 inches Width opposite claw: About 5 inches Length of tub mount: About 3.75 inches Length of tub slot in mount: About 2 inches As you can see in pic number 5. One of the feet has two metal pieces taped to the back. These are the only two present. I am assuming that they have something to do with the mounting of the pieces to the tub. I am not certain but someone obviously taped them on there for a reason. I do not think that the finish is original. It appears that they have been primed. I did not get to speak to the previous owner about them so I am just offering my opinion. Please view the pictures ... moreprovided carefully to form your own opinion about the condition. Description Set of 4 antique cast iron and glass claw and ball feet. They are 6" tall with 3" diameter glass balls. The hole at the top is 1 3/8" at the widest and tapers smaller. Three have no cracks or big chips. One has a chip under the face and along the edge of the metal. See photo) Looks like it was factory flaw. Has air pocket in the chip. Very old chip and not very noticeable because of the jaw of the face over it. The feet fit a stand parlor type table from the turn of the century era. These ball and claw feet were removed from an antique. Likely Victorian era, table but are the right diameter for a chair or stool. They are heavy cast metal and clear glass. The white on our photo is flash reflection. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. The cast claws are in beautiful condition, of course not as polished(gold color) as they once were but likely they can be professional polished or plated. They measure 4" tall from the bottom of the glass, i.e. the floor, to the top. The top openings are about 3/4" in diameter. This is a pair of cast iron painted claw feet from an old bathtub. One of the two has a piece broken off on the back. About 6" tall and they all have a tapered hole that is roughly 1 1/2" at the top opening tapering down smaller on the inside of the opening. As found condition and they are solid with the glass balls having the usual wear and tear nicks and chips that you would expect on something asd old as these feet. The one picture shows one glass ball that has a round chip spot in it. It's not deep and it does not look like a crack in the glass. Just a spot/chip on the surface. Two Salvaged Wooden Ball-and-Claw Feet
These are two ball-and-claw feet rescued from a chair. Wood. Please note that the bottom edge of one foot and a little more wear than the other. The entire length is approximately 14 1/4" The square post is approximately 5" long and 1 3/4" square. From the top carved area to the bottom of the foot is approximately 9 1/4" The bottom claw foot is approximately 2 1/2" in diameter. The square block still has the pegs and most of the staples have been removed.

Vintage Cast Iron Eagle Claw/Ball Bathtub/Stove Feet--Set Of Three
These claw feet measure approximately 6.75 inches tall. 4.5 inches wide across the top, and 3 inches deep. The have some rusting and multiple layers of old paint, but there are no cracks or flaws that I could find. Instead of a claw they show what appears to be a feathered serpent with its mouth around the glass ball. If you want to read about the feathered serpent of the Mayans. Which I find fascinating, read the last paragraph of this description. If you don’t like reading about sacrifice. Skip the last paragraph. The glass balls do have dings and scratch marks. But no cracks. One of the balls has a manufacturing defect in that they made 2 flat spots instead of one(for the bottom of the ball) The extra flat spot is smaller than the one at the bottom. The metal appears to be in pretty decent condition with a few rough spots. One of the feet does have a crack in the metal near the ball that is about 5/16” long. I'm not sure what type of wood this is but there are two tones(might be called inlay) A lot of carving detail on this table! Ball and claw feet.It isn't perfect. There are a couple flaws that need fixed but in the right hands I'm sure it could be amazing. I don't know about fixing them or if this one has or has not been touched previously. If anyone has any information on it I'd love to know myself. I took pictures of the under belly because I recall hearing that you can tell age by screws. As there should be for any items of this age but overall I would say these are in good vintage condition.
