IL- ... moreFar west Chicago suburbs) UP FOR AUCTION: A gorgeous. Vintage, Art Deco, walnut waterfall-style cedar-lined blanket or hope chest. Elegant contrasting veneer inlay work on front center. It's unmarked as to maker. I think it's likely circa early to mid-1900s. I believe it's in original condition. It has one interior. Multi-sectioned drawer on hinges(in need of minor repair-see below) It's constructed of walnut veneer with cedar lining, and secondary hardwood(s) The back is unfinished. Wonderful for storage and display or seating, it's both beautiful and superbly useful. CONDITION: Overall. I think it's in nice vintage condition. Solid and sturdy. Only the tiniest bit of veneer loss that I can see: a few tiny chips along the back edge. Minor nicks, imperfections normal to vintage furniture. It does have some flaws: 1) the top surface has superficial scratches and age-related splits in the veneer(but they seem shallow enough to me that I think just polyurethane(were the top refinished) and/or a walnut-tone pore filler would be enough to fill them for a flawless(or nearly so) top. 2) In the interior. Lid, left side, the wood affixing the screw supporting the pull-out shelf is stripped(please see photos; the drawer is just propped in place in the photo) so is in need of this repair. I'd probably suggest filling the oversized hole with wood scraps and glue to fill, then redrilling the hole(possibly a larger screw would work) this is left to the buyer. 3) The locks on these old chests pose a safety hazard to children(won't open from within; children can suffocate inside) and can't be sold with the lock in place. I've removed and discarded it. Leaving just the hardware(for aesthetics) so it simply opens and closes, and can be opened from inside. The buyer, if he/she desires a working lock, can probably purchase one through ebay or vi

This bedroom was set was purchased at an antique store in Eureka. California for $3,500 about 8 years ago. Made by Morris Furniture Manufacturing Company, Los Angeles. It includes: Nightstand. 16 in wide x 13 in deep x 27 in tall- Vanity. 48.5 in wide x 18.5 in deep x 30 in tall without mirror, or 65 in tall with mirror attached- Stool with original upholstery underneath a layer of modern fabrics. 22 in wide x 12 in deep x 17.5 in tall- Dresser with five drawers. 32 in wide x 19.5 in deep x 49 in tall The set will require some polish. There are only two pieces of the original glass left(on the sides of the vanity) and the hardware is not original. There are some watermarks on the top of the nightstand. All in all the set is in good shape and is very lovely. The construction is fantastic.

One side has 2 drawers and the other side is a cabinet, does also have rollers. Vanity measures 63" in height to the top of the mirror, 48" in length and 18 1/2" wide. Nice vintage condition, the mirror is clear with no cloudiness or spots. This is a nice. Waterfall style, Art Deco dresser that is still looking very good, but has a few scratches and wear. It could be spruced up a bit with the right TLC and made into a piece for a super, cool, Art Deco setting. It is approximately 52 inches high, 32 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. The mirror on the back is approximately 8 inches high. All the drawer handles are in good condition as are the drawers. Noted are the pieces in the chest frame that are under each drawer to prevent dirt and debris from falling into the drawers below. I have a dozen photos up so please look closely and use the magnification feature. Note there are caster wheels on the bottom for easier moving around the house. I have pictured a footboard from the bed that went with this set. It comes with the dresser if you should want it. It is for a full size box ... morespring and mattress. Nice vintage 1930s 1940s art deco style waterfall vanity/dresser with round mirror. It appears to have been fairly recently refinished except for the mirror. The knobs and handles have been painted. The veneer appears to have been replaced. It has dovetail joinings of the drawers. It is in fair condition-even though it has been refinished. It has some areas that need work. The veneer has some spots where it is not smooth and somewhat uneven and there are some depressions in it. There is a small gap between the middle dresser top and where the mirror attaches. The mirror has places around the edges where the silver is rubbing off. It has other various nicks, dents, and scratches consistent with its age. Beautiful Circa 1945 Waterfall Dresser with Mirror
This stunner was painted a ghastly brown when we found her. But look at her now! We believe this beauty was made by the Vaughn Bassett Furniture Company in Mount Airy. NC in 1945. The mirror was made by Galax Glass Co. The dresser has all the original hardware, the metal portions of which were stripped(yep, they were painted brown too) and repainted. The celluloid portions are in great original condition. The dresser is 42 1/2" wide, 20" deep and 34" high without the mirror. 67" with the mirror attached. Whoever painted this did not paint the mirror section so it still has the great little"inlaid" detailing. The refinished dresser matches the mirror perfectly. The top drawer features a 10" valet tray in the center. The drawers are dovetailed, fit great and open smoothly. The second drawer had a small amount ... moreof damage to the veneer, upper left side. This area was filled before staining so be sure to look at the photos. That's the biggest flaw. There are a couple very minor, less than perfect areas shown in the last two photos but this is in wonderful condition and the veneer looks great. This is available for pick up near Hershey, PA. Pretty 4-Drawer Waterfall Dresser, Inlay, Bakelite, Carving, Needs A Little TLC!
Offering a 4-drawer Waterfall dresser. It is 51 inches high. 31 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. The drawers are 29 inches long, 15 inches wide and a generous 9 inches deep. Some lovely vintage details remain. Pretty inlay and carving, carmel Bakelite and brass knobs and handles. The middle drawer has modern handles. Unfortunately the metal broke but is included, along with the Bakelite pieces and the original screws. Not sure if they could be soldered or maybe a metal smith could help. The back piece is 31 inches long, 5 inches high. It is structurally solid, but the bottom drawer squeaks. It has seen better days. Veneer is lifted in a few places. It is scratched, has wring marks and is dry. But, a little TLC would bring out its character. Or it could be repurposed. Cash and carry only. Gorgeous! True vintage piece- awesome Art Deco"Waterfall" style Warm brown with a slight cherry reddish tone Tiger maple look grain in the wood(I'm no expert on the wood types- see the pics! 4 drawers. Original mirror, shelf areas in the middle Measures 44" wide. 19" deep, 28.25" tall plus mirror(62.75" tall including mirror) The mirror is 36" wide including the wood frame. And it comes apart from the base for easy moving. No chips or cracks in the wood. Lovely finish. With no water stains or scratches! Wow. The mirror is also true vintage. So it does have slight wear in a couple spots(meaning black or brown spots where the mirror"silvering" is gone) typical for an old mirror. But no chips or cracks or crazing. It is in excellent condition(sorry for the streaks on the mirror- we forgot to windex ... moreit again before taking the photos! Clean drawers. Gold toned hardware The outer sides of the dresser seem to have had veneer originally. But it was probably chipped, so it seems to have been removed and the wood underneath was stained to match the dresser. It's common for vintage veneers to chip, so that's probably what happened. It's not noticeable that it should have been there- see pics- but we thought we'd mention it, as we try to mention all so-called"imperfections" Also. As you can see in the photos, there is more than one kind of wood used on this piece, making for lots of personality. The darker"tiger-like" wood on the drawer fronts is very beautiful! Antique Art Deco Cavalier Waterfall Vanity Dressing Table with Mirror -Needs TLC
Antique vanity/dressing table. Child's size? Measures approx. 5' tall(to the top of the mirror. 4'3" wide, 18" deep. In need of some love and a refinishing. The finish appears to have already been removed some years ago or it is just that worn. I don't know for sure though. Peeling and chipped veneer in many places. Is missing the little brackets that hold the mirror to the wood backing. Also missing a piece of glass for the top center(between the drawers) Both of those items are easily replaced. Someone wrote their name on the mirror, but it does seem to come off easily when scraped, so it is not etched in there. The mirror alone on this piece is worth $40.00.
