It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. Or merchant's chest, dating from the Meiji Era around the mid to late 1800's, featuring a lock bar in the center and classical safe compartment at the bottom right. It boasts a natural light colour with a rich honey patina, beautifully shaped hand forged iron hardware, wood peg construction and 8 drawers of various sizes that provide versatile storage options including a full width drawer at the top. It is in excellent overall condition for it's age. But has a little lock issue: as there is no key and the top drawer lock is in the closed position with the drawer open it will not shut all the way. The safe compartment has a tendency to swing open by itself since there is no key to lock it. The lock issue does NOT affect the lock bar which slides in and out of place properly. Please read the description and examine the photos for more details on the condition. Locksmiths and larger antique dealers will own sets of multiple keys to fit a broad range of locks so you should be able to get the drawer unlocked easily enough so it slides into place. With a little patience you could also find an antique key that fits right here on ebay(I can recommend a seller who regularly stocks this type of item) Other small issues worth noting are a small repair in the bottom corner of the smallest drawer just above the safe compartment. The larger top drawer is stiff to open and close due to age and needs a tweak, and one corner plate in the back is bent out of shape. Given it's age there is some wearing off of the blackening of a few small spots of the iron, and a couple of small nails are missing. Antique American Miniature Chest of Drawers Hand Painted Decoration Early Doll
This middle 19th century chest is crafted of ash and walnut with thin pine wood backing and square nail construction. It measures 12 ¼” tall x 13 ¼” wide x 7 ½” deep and has lovely turned walnut knobs and lively side cuts at the base. The top and drawer faces feature red striped edges framing free-hand floral decoration in red and green under an original layer of golden varnish. The drawer fronts are excellent; the top has a split along the back edge. Round water marks and wear to the paint. This chest is fresh from a northern Indiana estate and has un-touched dirty surface. I don’t think the surface has been enhanced since the 1800s but you will note numerous round, wire nail repairs along the back rabbet into which the back slips with some splits and wood loss. Antique Federal Style Flame Mahogany Dresser w/ Mirror Chest of 6 Drawers Bureau
Antique Federal style mirrored dresser or chest of drawers dating from the early 1900's. Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this piece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. An inlay medallion of a lamp has been placed atop the swivelling mirror. This piece has six drawers ina 3 over 3 configuration. Providing ample storage space. All the drawers are made with high quality dovetail construction. The entire piece is raised off of the ground by short tapered square legs sitting on brass and wood casters. Overall. This piece is in good condition. There is some noticeable silver loss to the mirror(see pictures) but no cracks or other damage. The wood has some noticeable wear associated with age, including chips and breakage to the veneers or inlay, including the lamp maedallion at the top of the mirror. See ... morepictures. There is also a chip out of the left side finial and the right side finial is missing altogether. The knob that goes over the swivel action of the mirror on the right side has come off, but we do have it. The wheels of the casters do no turn easily and probably need to be oiled. European, Possibly Italian Item# 120008IRU26 This is a work of exquisite craftsmanship. Covered in a thick mahogany and rosewood veneer. The colors exemplified in this chest are simply remarkable. Inlaid with fine marquetry work, the musical instruments central to the commode are flanked on either side by books hanging from knotted ribbon. Two large drawers make up the case, each fully dovetailed front and back, exposed on the sides. Crisp gilt bronze mounts grace the corners and feet, allowing the cabriole legs to terminate in lion paw feet. This came from England and has a metal plate on the front that says“This cabinet and its contents is the property of The Office Clean Towel Hire Co. Ltd. and is on loan to the user as custodian bailee. The oak cabinet is approx. 22 3/8” x 16” x 5 ¾” It has three shelves. The top section I used to hold Kleenex tissues. I especially like the door with the Red Cross symbol. It has Initial Office of First Aid Outfit painted on it. There are ventilation holes at the top and bottom of the cabinet. Some of the silver is lightly worn on the mirror which gives it that vintage charm I so love. The original finish is in excellent ... morevintage aged condition. There is a split in one section of the wooden towel bar which is not usual for it vintage age and usage. It can be hung with the two round hooks at the top. It is very heavy so use wall anchors with your screws to safely secure it to the wall. The wood backing on the inside that covers the mirror has a couple of gouges in the wood. You could remove the backing and replace the mirror with glass if you wanted to use it as a display case. I purchased this charming antique medicine cabinet from an antique store in 1983. I haven’t seen another one like this one since. I filled it with vintage toiletries and hung it in my powder room. Everyone always complimented me on this beautiful piece. I have recently remodeled. Antique Mahogany Vanity and Wastand or Chest Made In England
These are a very nice pair of Dressing Table and Washstand made in England circa 1900. There are 3 satinwood panels to the back of the Washstand, it also has the original cut glass handles, to the base it has what used to call a dog kennel were the dog would sleep below to the center. This would have at one time had a bowl and pitcher on the top were people would wash them selves. The condition is very good. The Vanity is in very good condition has all the same details as the Washstand but with a mirror and two trinket boxes to the top. Georgian English Hepplewhite Style Bowfront Mahogany Antique Chest Dresser
Spectacular.World Class Beauty. Georgian/Hepplewhite Style"swirl mahogany" Bow front chest of drawers.Circa 1920 I acquired this stunning piece needing some tender loving restoration. It presented with a very opaque brown finish hiding the beautiful swirl mahogany. I removed the opaque finish and discovered the beautiful graining on this chest. Including on the drawers and the cross banded mahogany around the top edge.The rich reddish brown mahogany has incredible grains as seen in some of the close up photos(close up of the drawer pull) I restored the finish with many, many coats of hand rubbed varnish over the natural mahogany. The chest is a true chest of drawers with drawers that increase in depth(graduated) as you go down the chest.I restored the chest from top to bottom including regluing and clamping all of the drawers. The ... moredrawers all feature precise dovetail construction. Both at the front& back corners of the drawers. The drawers all have a extra stiffener support board built into the middle bottom of the drawers, a sure indication of high quality& craftsmanship. This chest is rock solid& built like a tank, made from all hardwood construction.the mahogany is all veneered over poplar secondary woods. The drawers are made of oak.The drawers slide excellently. The Chippendale style bracket feet and wrap around trim details of the top and lower portions of the chest are superb details. the brasses are all original including the dummy keyhole escutcheons. The detail of the brasses is fantastic as you can see in the photos. I buffed the brasses and clear coated them with laquer. They do have some darkened areas on the brass with makes for great character and patina The pulls work perfectly.You won't find more intricate& beautiful pulls.all original.There is a makers branded mark on the outside of the top drawer.see photo) The top drawer has 2 removable oak dividers which can be used to divide the top drawer into 3 compartments. I am proud to be offering for your consideration this American antique solid mahogany low boy chest circa 1880- 1900? This piece is right out of an old Boston area estate. It's a quality piece. All hand made of heavy solid mahogany. The finish appears to be original and good, but needs to be cleaned up and polished. The original solid brass Chippendale style hardware is all present. The drawers are in good condition and have hand cut dovetails and champhored bottoms. The carcus has plank sides, one side has an old shrinkage crack. The chest sits on tall, thin cabriole style legs that end in carved animal claw and ball feet. The problems are. the claws have been chewed by a dog and the backside has loose glue joints.
