There are spoon carvings and reeding on the ornate crest and framing the mirror. The mirror is in good condition with just a little fogging and a dark patch across the top portion right next to the upper edge. It’s in nice shape for a mirror of this age. Be sure to see the photos below. I see no cracks. Chips ... moreor breaks in the marble top or backsplash. They are in great shape however they are a little dull. The shine should return if you should polish it. The base has 3 drawers and 1 door. The drawers have Chippendale bail style pulls with a solid back plate and the door has a metal knob pull. The sides and back are paneled and the piece is very solid and sturdy. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and may not be perfect. This washstand measures 78¾ inches tall, 30 1/16 inches side to side and 17¾ inches front to back. It weighs 133 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested. Purchased through an estate sale in old Charleston, SC and in lovely condition for a late 19th century piece with three wonderful beveled mirrors, lovely burl walnut on the front of the drawers, six small drawers and two large drawers for lots of organized storage and a nice top surface. The finish is in good condition, commensurate with it's age with only the minor nicks and dents one would expect with respectful use over time. The three beautiful beveled mirrors are clear and in very good condition, free of cracks, chips or pitting. In my close up I show how easily these mirrors on the side remove for easy and safe transport then are simply hooked back in place. This delightful dressing table or vanity with bureau drawers has all it's hardware except one drawer pull has the back plate but is missing the handle itself. Antique Dresser with Movable Hinged Mirror- Walnut color A lovely. Very old piece. I am not sure of its exact age. It was pulled from my great-grandparents' house in North Carolina many decades ago and kept at my grandmother's. The bar underneath the mirror indicates that it was used to hold a towel. This dresser might have been useful for holding a water pitcher and bowl before most folks even had running water in their homes. Wheels were added to the bottom for ease of use. This special piece is still quite functional. The mirror is really neat- it swings easily fowards and backwards via hinges. One can tell the glass in the mirror is really old. Up for your consideration is this beautiful dresser. I am 60 yrs old. My mother purchased this dresser for me at an auction when I was 20. At the time when my mom bought it. The dresser was an antique. That tells me it is at least 60 years old. I think it is walnut wood. I also think it is veneer. Please understand that I am not a wood expert so I could be wrong. A very nice antique. Circa 1920s- 1930's, carved walnut front and legs Louis XVI style petite chest of drawers. The sides are walnut stained maple, the secondary woods maple. All drawers contain their locks, brass escutcheons, and ring pulls. The left side panel has a few shrinkage cracks. Original finish. It measures 39-2/2" tall by 31" wide by 16" deep. The marble top has been broken into four pieces and neatly glued back.

Serpentine shape Made in England Circa 1940 Excellent condition Burled walnut Hand cut dovetails, There are so many useful ways that a chest of drawers this size can be placed in a home. It is the perfect bedside chest or nightstand. The 32″ height is great for next to a sofa or chair to hold a lamp. It can stand alone for storage and to just add beauty to a room. The serpentine front is a complicated shape to create as it involves bending the wood several times to achieve the proper look. This particular antique chest of drawers was made in England ... morearound 1940 and whoever made it did a wonderful job on the serpentine front. This dresser also has many other fine features that make it one of the nicer dressers we have ever seen. The corners are canted and fluted and the brass hardware is a really nice Chippendale style bain pull. The wood used on this antique chest of drawers is a lovely burl walnut. The frame appears to be a straight grain walnut. This burl has a tremendous amount of variation in it. Making it particularly pleasing to the eye. This antique dresser is in excellent condition. The finish is superb and there are no repairs. The drawers all open and close easily. They are also put together with hand cut dovetailed joints. A sign of quality craftsmanship. It is a sturdy chest that can bear the weight of a heavy lamp and fully loaded drawers. It is ready to go immediately into whatever room you have need of it for!
