Vintage Set of 4 Brass Wheel Casters Swivel around the Stem
Set of 4 vintage brass wheel casters with brass yokes have swivel posts in good working condition. These casters measure 2.75 inches long including the post. The caster posts are meant to fit inside a socket with 9/32 inch inside diameter 1.5 inches long. They would be used to support a mid weight piece of furniture and raise its height by 1.25 inches. A caster set like this could have been used on a table where the post was inserted into a socket in the leg. The socket could have been metal or just a hole drilled in the wood as sometimes seen on contemporary furniture. Please view the pictures carefully. Set of 4 Antique WOODEN WHEEL CASTERS with Swivel Inserts -- 1 1/8" dia wheel
Lot of 4 Antique STEM CASTERS With WOODEN WHEELS With Swivel Inserts These casters have the insert that goes into the hole of the furniture leg. Then the caster is inserted into the insert where it snaps in and stays without falling out of the furniture leg when the furniture piece is lifted off the floor. The hardwood wheels are about 1 1/8" in diameter and about 5/8" in thickness. The stems are 1 1/2" long. 1/4" in diameter with a knob at the top that is 5/16" in diameter. These casters are very similar in size and look, but they are not exactly alike. Condition: These casters are used. None of the wheels are cracked or broken or have flat spots. Two of the wheels have no wear on the axle and two have some wear. But are still quite usable. All my items are from a nonsmoking environment. I've sold many of these porcelain wheels and there are a couple of things I've seen that is common with most all of them as old as these casters are. These were hand forged and will not be a perfect matching set. Some shafts are slightly longer or larger than others and there will almost always be chips and broken pieces on the wheels. After all, they are porcelain and fragile. All the sets I have listed have these common flaws, so look at the pics closely, they are not perfect by any means but they all do still roll. Vintage brass/gold casters set of 4 Heavy duty 2.25" across swivel/ball wheel
Set of 4 heavy duty smooth rolling casters. The only marking I see on them is PAT. They are all about 2.25" across/diameter. The metal straight shank is about 1.5" long coming out of the caster.
