Four Bassick casters from an Industrial Salvage auction. They most likely came from a 1940s-1950s office/secretary's chair. They are. I believe, made of steel and the black rolling ball is some type of hard rubber. The diameter of the ball is about 1-3/4" the height of the caster(without the shaft) is about 2-1/8" and the shaft is 1-1/2" The manufacturer, Bassick, is imprinted on each ball. They show signs of use/wear but no serious dents or major dings. They all roll freely. One caster has an additional hardware piece attached to the shaft. They are all in need of a major clean up. This auction is for a set of 4 Vintage Aluminum Caster Furniture Industrial Cart Wheels. They appear to be for a cart or something commercial but they could also be from furniture. I am not sure of the age. I found these in my in-laws house. They work and are in good shape. They measure approximately 2 inches high from bottom of wheel to top of attachment and the wheels are approximately 2 inches in diameter. I believe the wheels are aluminum. But I am not for sure. Four Old Industrial Cart Heavy Duty Swivel Casters 4" Diameter Wheels- Set Of Four The wheels have a great look to them. The patina is really nice on these with a side a dirt. They are not perfectly clean, which could be done if you so choose. These have a great look and all four wheels turn with little or no resistance. Measurements were taken in the pictures. The measurements are as follows. The widest part of the plate(with the holes) is 5" The holes are spaced 4" on center. Turning the base the other way the plate is 4" at the widest point and the holes are 3" on center. No sealer or coating is put on them. Each wheel has its own unique character.
