These are very heavy duty.carrying an eight foot work top when found. They have a notch built in to hold a stretcher/ reinforcing board. The top piece has a built in 1.5" step up from front to back. As well as a brace for a backsplash. There are no maker's or foundry marks that I found. The rust is very light and much of it is'flash' rust caused by all the rain and moisture in the last weeks. No cracks were found. One small chip on one foot can be seen in photo 11. There is some reddish paint on the front of one leg. The height from the floor to the lower brace is 9" To the top of the front section is 30.5" to the top of the rear section is 31" to the top of ... morethe backsplash brace is 37" On the top, the front/lower section is 13.5" deep, and the rear/upper section is 15.5" deep. Bignall Medina NY Machine Age Industrial Deco Cast Iron Table Base Leg Old Paint
Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Here is gorgeous antique cast iron table base or stand– it has a really great cross between Art Deco and Machine Age Industrial Steampunk designs. It also has some really fantastic old green paint on it. One side is marked MEDINA NY and the other side is marked BIGNALL CO. This stand or base stands 19 ¾” tall at the top rim and measures 8” across the bottom of the base. The circular top measures 13” across at the outside edges and 12 ½” across at the inside rim or shelf. One side of that inside shelf is marked 12 1/2. Each side has a graceful arched arm for supporting the top piece. The arches ... moreor support arms have a series of circular cutouts in graduated sizes. There is a small square nut sort of quick soldered or tacked in one of the smaller circles– it looks like it will pop right out with a bit of force and a screwdriver. But I left it there. The original owner must have modified it for some reason to suit his needs. It does not have anything to do with the structural integrity of the piece. The center post is attached to the stacked domed base. The top circular rim is attached with screws, nuts, and bolts- I took pictures of how the it is attached from underneath. There is no damage to this piece– no breaks. Cracks, or repairs. There is flaking and missing old green paint here and there with the original black paint showing through. The underside of the base has some rusting, but there are no areas of pitting or weakness in the metal. I gave this piece a quick wipe down with some warm water and a sponge and dried it completely– nothing else. This base will be a work of art– well, it already is. This is a very nice 2 tier or multi tier antique cast iron base that was made by Kenney Bros. Wolkins Inc. of Boston MA. It would make a great stand or end table and was originally part of an early school desk. It measures 29 1/2" high x 23" deep. The base is 11" wide x 16" deep, the bottom tier is 16 1/2" from the floor and is 9 1/2" in diameter, the upper tier is 29 1/2" from the floor and is 10" wide x 8 1/2" deep. Other than some surface rust it is in good condition. This auction is for one stand. It is available for pickup or can be shipped by Fed Ex ground. The base retains its original paint and luster and I am selling to you in as found and as is condition which is amazing for all these years it has been around. Beautiful old ornate cast iron legs- not seen any this ornate before These legs are just like the Willcox& Gibbs legs except for not having the large W in the center. They are the same on the bottom& tops of legs very ornate feet just the center is different& they are unmarked. Not sure if these are older ones or manufacturer also made them for another company. In excellent condition no chips or cracks. They had surface rust& have been sanded& are ready to be primed& painted Wheels do not turn. Here we have an awesome antique cast iron table base. This base has a great style to it and is very heavy and sturdy. There are NO chips. Cracks, breaks or repairs but there is some paint damage. This table base is very versatile that would look great in Industrial, Steampunk, Shabby Cottage Chic, Victorian or Goth décor and with the right table top it will last for lifetimes. This table base is about 28 1/2 inches tall and weighs in at about 50 lbs. Here we have a rare pair of antique Machine Age industrial table legs by the Chandler company. I have never seen a pair like these. They are smaller and skinnier then the legs you will find normally making them perfect for a coffee table or a side table. These legs are adjustable up to about 17 1/2 inches tall and as low as about 12 3/4 inches tall. When measuring the feet of these legs from toe to toe these legs are about 8 3/4 inches wide. Here we have pair of antique machine age industrial table legs. These taller than the usual legs have a great look with iron/steel composition. These legs can be adjusted in height from 25 1/2 inches tall and as low as 17 1/2 inches. They measure 15 1/2 inches wide at the bottom and 9 1/2 inches wide at the cast iron top. Base has some surface rust but is in good solid condition. One leg has one of the Mounting ears broke off but should not effect its stability. See pics. The legs are marked L M Stein Co Chicago. This is an oddity. I think it would be a great table base. I my best guess is it's original purpose in the 50's was to hold sheet music- see last pic. It would be kind of cool as a combo table/magazine stand. It measures about 21" tall. And 13" by 15" at the bottom where it's the largest. It's all steel. It is solid. Straight, heavy duty. You are looking at a small cast aluminum& metal table base.The legs are cast aluminum. This will make a nice table.The base is a little under 32 inches in length. about 27 inches height. 14 1/2 inches across the top of 1 side. It has rust on the metal. And paint loss on the aluminum. It has 4 holes to mount a top. We do not see any cracks. There is marks where the legs were put together. Email with any questions. Payment is due within 3 days of auction end.
