Antique set of 4 cast iron furniture casters 1.75" wheels hardware lot
This is a matched set of 4 cast iron furniture casters. The wheels are 1- 3/4" in diameter. The tapered shanks are 2- 3/4" long and just about 1/2" in diameter at the base. These will raise a piece by 2 inches. The casters roll freely. They have some surface rust, and they are not bent or otherwise damaged. Up for auction are four matching metal antique Victorian era hardware furniture pulls recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are offered in good used condition and feature a nice cartuche form and retains original screws in two of the four pieces. A cleaner pull is on one piece, but one with the original patina is included. This is what was found and all will be included to the winning bidder. The backing is tin and the pull is brass. The backings are approximately 1 3/4" in diameter. Pulls extend approximately 2" from the backing. Up for sale are eight matching metal vintage hardware furniture remnants recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are offered in good used condition and feature a nice reticulated form. It has a pewter colored finish. They appear to be remnants from furniture hardware, as there is a hole in the center where the pull might be. This hole has an approximate diameter of 1'8" in size. It is in a round snowflake form. These pieces are made of metal, but it does not attract a magnet. They each measures approximately 2 7/8" in diameter. The back is marked, Japan" with the number"981" A very nice find, great for reuse on any piece of furniture or to be repurposed to accent any steampunk style project. I have a large mixed lot of salvaged furniture or door handle hardware for your consideration. The majority of these pieces are older antique and mostly brass. There is a nice cast iron trunk pull handle and ornate cast brass plates with bail handles as well. A few nice square craftsman bungalow style handles in the lot too that are solid cast brass. Another one of my estate sale Relics. The hinges are estate fresh. And could use a detailed cleaning. The hinges are cast iron with a brass pin. The hinge on the rights pin is half way out and needs to be pounded back in. I put some water on the right hinge to bring out the details. The hinges would have been door hinges for a very old cabinet. They measure 2 1/2in tall x 3 1/2in wide, opened flat. These aren't trunk hinges, and would have gone on a door. At all, your caster fits- Even if it has play up and down, it's OK, many wheels have varying stem lengths, the important thing is that the wheels/casters don't fall out.they will still spin freely which is what your going for(you don't usually need to lift your dresser leg off of the ground.So ... moreyou don't have to worry about vertical play) If the stem of your caster is two long for the hole of your furniture leg just drill it deeper with a bit the size of the bracket tube. This is an old 1" china roller. 1 1/8" metal stem. Help fix that old furniture up or would be great for industrial. Steampunk, and altered art. Could be cleaned.
