Large. Salvaged, architectural pediment. Beautiful, Victorian antique in overall wonderful condition! Walnut construction with raised, bevelled, burled panel in the middle. Highlights include.sawtooth trim far left and right, quarter fan carvings, segmented vertical trim, cornice molding above, and repeating geometric design across top with cannonball finials. Hanging wire attached in back with felt pads to protect wall. Can also freely stand upright, on its own. Here is an antique Victorian clock or mirror pediment in as found condition. This carved piece measures about 18" wide and 8" tall. Plus mounting bracket attached with square/cut nails. There is a crack that can be seen in photos, as well as the original wrinkled varnish. This antique walnut trim piece would clean up nicely and add that finishing touch to a Victorian mirror, clock case or what have you. ANTIQUE SOLID WALNUT HAND CARVED FURNITURE PEDIMENT PIECES
Up for bid is several pieces of an antique solid walnut furniture pediment or gallery from a Victorian or Eastlake era piece of furniture. The pieces are primitively hand carved as well as hand made. And although there are a few missing pieces, there do seem to be enough to create a nice gallery around the top of a bureau, buffet, dresser, and/or etc. The pieces are approximately 1/2" in thickness by an overall length for the longest center piece of about 21" On some pieces there is carving on both sides. My guess is the carver was practicing or was doing"do overs" in order to get the best look that they wanted to achieve before finishing the piece. The top center carving piece does have a chip or missing piece of wood, though it does not take away from the overall glamour of the pieces. This is a very nice antique walnut desk insert with a drop down front and six small drawers. It was salvaged from a large two piece secretary desk. Most likely it is English. It measures aprox. 41 1/2" wide x 15" deep, 21 1/4" deep with the front dropped down x 7 3/4" high and the writing surface is 14" deep. It has dovetailed drawers, nice drawer pulls and brass latches that hold the front in place. The leather on top is cracked in the center, the small brackets on one of the open cubbyholes are missing and there is a scratch or gouge on the left side of the carved front that extends to the center which you can see in the pictures, part of the bottom board is missing as well. This is a typical American Eastlake Victorian furniture part. The long grooves are typical as are the style of the carvings that either represent flowers or cherries. Also the strip of fancy burl grain which is overlaid in the 1" x 8" center rectangle is typical of Eastlake Victorian style. I do not know what piece of furniture this item was attached to. There is a wooden(walnut wood also) mounting bracket on the back and deep-set dadoes on each end that were used for mounting. Condition: This piece is in relatively good condition for its age. Carved Renaissance Victorian walnut table legs parts for repurpose, upcycle.
I would like to start by saying. I didn't do it. For your consideration are 4 partial legs of what was once a beautiful console table. They feature incredible carved foliate tops and then have a tapered and reeded column that ends in a brass foot. As you can see. Not all the legs are complete. Three have had the tops sawn off and one of those has also had the foot sawn off. They feature a gray-green snippy paint and what appears to be a layer of black jacobean stain beneath the paint. These would be great mounted upside-down as lamps of table sculptures, or you could try your hand at furniture making, using these as legs or fantastic finials. The longest on measures 26" long and the shortest is 15" long. One of them has been partially stripped and you can see the gorgeous walnut beneath. Antique Hand Carved Dark Walnut Floral Furniture Applique
This auction is for a beautiful. Handcarved dark walnut floral furniture applique that measures 5 3/4" x 5" A hook was installed on the back for hanging purposes. It protrudes ever so slightly through the front of the carving. The resultant hole wold not be noticeable if the hook was removed. The original finish would be much more lustrous if it was waxed well. I will not be available from July 15- July 19. I will respond ti your inquiries no larwe rhan July 20.
