Genuine Period Antique Carved Wood Table Stand w/ Drawer Drop Pull
A genuine early period antique wood table stand. I am in a slight dilemma as to which period it is from. Could be Colonial but cannot say 100% although could be Colonial Revival/ Victorian as well. It does have the appearance and the hardware fits but I am not an expert at furniture so will leave it up to your discretion after reading description and viewing pictures. The table is 20" tall x 21 3/4" across x 12.5 deep, weighs approx 17-18 lbs. It has one drawer that pulls out from the bottom that has a flower carving on each side of it's drop pull. Drop pull and plate appear to be iron with pull itself having a pointed end with rough side surface and smooth faceted, roughly made, pointed tip(somewhat like an old handmade nail look) The drop pull is secured with a staple fastener. The drawer has the triangular cut dove tailing ... morebut odd in that the back side of the drawer's dovetailing is round, see pics. The back of the drawer are carve marked with"+L" The two sides are carved with medallions in a flower design. The legs are turned and the feet are an onion style bun feet, slightly flattened. The wood has the grain of Atlantic White Cedar but will admit I am not great at identification of various woods but when comparing some pictures it looked closest. It is in VG condition, one foot does have a crack in it, there is a small crack on the edge of one of the carved panels on the drawer, and the panel above the drawer where two side by side pieces of wood meet has a very slight space in between them. There is a small light scratch/ scuff here and there. Very nicely kept and cared for during it's 100+ years(as I don't believe it to date early then late 1800's, this I am rather sure of) I acquired this at an estate her in Charlotte where I also purchased an 1880's Minton piece which I recently sold. It measures 24 3/4" x 17 1/2" x 2" including the knob) As you can see from the photos this cabinet is carved by hand. The carving is rough and irregular but still beautiful in its intricacy! The pattern looks like it depicts a thistle plant inside of an arched design. You can also see that there are a couple of pieces missing from the design including one of the oval shaped designs in the top left and possibly two rectangle shaped pieces at the top of the columns below the arch. The knob also looks to have been hand carved. This door still has the original hinges which are rusted in place. The back of the door looks as though it had 2 cross ... morepieces which have been removed. The door does have some cracks developing in the bottom as you can see in the photos. This is the apron f rom an antique table that was about 68"X48" It was an oval table. So some of these are more curved since they were on the ends and the straighter ones were the sides. They are mortise and tenon. One piece has a n edge that is broken off near the end on the back. Please look over pictures) These are almost 6" wide at the widest and each piece is about 23"2 3.5" lo ng. these are r eally HEAVY! They will cost at lea st $35. to ship. Maybe more! Two antique oak or ash decorative carved wood panels from late 1800's/early 1900
Up for your consideration are these two oak or ash decorative wood panels. I am hoping the pictures will give you a better description as to condition and actual type of wood. I honestly feel the wood is oak but please. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to inquire as I will do my best to accommodate. The panels are in nice condition considering their age. There is some age cracking and other slight cracking, especially around the dowel areas. However, the panels are very solid and any cracking has not affected the panels durabilty. The panels weigh about 3 pounds each and measure 14.5" long, 11.5" wide, and.75" thick. Beautiful antique wooden carved tri-foot lion claw feet for furniture repair. These are lovely and were made early. Not sure of the age, I unfortunately broke the table that they were attached to. The actual claw feet are 10 1/2" from the toes/claws to the middle base by 8 1/4" high from floor to the base. The center base piece is about 9 1/4" high by 4 3/8" wide. I believe that they're mahogany, but can't be positive. Please examine the pictures closely, there are some glue marks, etc. that show the condition better than I can describe. Thanks for looking!

Antique ORNATE Carved BURLED Wood VICTORIAN PEDIMENT Secretary Door Hall Tree
Up for auction is this fabulous antique Victorian carved wood arched pediment being offered"as is as found" It is in wonderful condition, though some of the burled veneer is lifting and there is one spot on the top edge of the moulding where it meets the center piece that is chipped(as seen in photo 7) It is very ornately carved with exquisite details. The 2 drop turned finials on either side of the center medallion are intact. Not sure of the wood, it is thick and solid somewhat speckled with darker spots. Exhibits superb craftsmanship. Beautifully curved multi-layer moulding. The underneath has one dowel on the bottom and 2 holes on the other side where it sat on the original piece of furniture which is long gone. This would be wonderful on a secretary, hall tree or even above a doorway. There are different layers giving it greath ... moredepth and interest. Measures along the bottom edge underneath 33 3/8 inches long, 1 inch thick and with the moulding at the sides about 2 1/2 inches thick; it is 16 1/4 inches in total height, the first lower arch is 2 5/8 inches thick, the total depth it would stick out if against a wall would be 5 5/8 inches. These pieces are in very good condition and don't have any cracks or breaks. As you can see in the photos one of the dowels used to hold the dowel in place has broken off flush with the end of the spindle. We believe that these are made from Mahogany. Antique hand carved mahogany Wood Scanty Clad Female caryatid Furniture Column
This 1920s furniture part appears never to have been mounted or finished. It measures 25” tall and is carved from un-finished solid Philippine mahogany and still has the chuck marks in the base where the blank was roughed out. The woman has obvious early 20th century features and appears to be having trouble holding up her bath towel. It is free of obvious damage and needs to be cleaned up a bit. Antique furniture parts curved sofa, chair ottoman legs solid carved hard wood
These legs came off an antique camel back brocade sofa from the 1930's(or earlier) that I purchased at estate auction yrs ago. It was a very well constructed piece of furniture with hand tied springs. A heavy hard wood frame, and horse hair for the first layer of padding. When I retired it for good. I salvaged these front legs. The back"legs" were actually part of the frame itself, or else I would have saved them as well. They have the original finish on them except for where I used a little denatured alcohol to help identify the wood. I am not positive. But my best guess is that they are mahogany or maybe cherry. They are NOT identical! That was never noticeable when they were on my couch- only when I put them side by side to measure. Upon doing my research. I found out that this style of carving is very complex and can only ... morebe done with one solid piece of wood so it's actually not unusual for them not to be exact duplicates. Original four factory wood screws included- they are flat(square) head- another clue that they are old. Cross head screws weren't used until the later 1930's and after. Measurements: Right leg: 3.5" all 4 sides at the top where it fastens. 6" high. 2.25" across; 2" front to back at the bottom where it rests on the floor(foot pad) Left leg: 3 sides at 3.5" and the back side is 3" across at the top. 6" high. 2 1/16" across; 2" front to back at the bottom(foot pad) You can't go to Lowes and buy these!
