Vintage Set of 4 Steel Wheel Casters Swivel around the Stem
Set of 4 vintage steel wheel casters with steel yokes have swivel posts in good working condition. These casters measure 2.75 inches long including the post. The caster posts are meant to fit inside a socket with 1/4 inch inside diameter 1 3/8 inches long. They would be used to support a mid weight piece of furniture and raise its height by 1.25 inches. A caster set like this could have been used on a table where the post was inserted into a socket in the leg. The socket could have been metal or just a hole drilled in the wood as sometimes seen on contemporary furniture. Please view the pictures carefully. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! At first glance. I thought that these old drawer pulls were brass- they have an age darkened patina and peeks of the brass color that you can still see(they're small, but they are there) But then I saw the light surface rust, and indeed, a magnet does stick to them- they are steel, with what's left of their original brass finish. I'm calling them shabby in my title because of that. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, and will come with the screws that ... moreyou see inside of each one at the back. It's a matching set of 4, each measuring 3" wide by 2 1/2" tall, and the screw holes at the back are 2 1/2" apart. All have their original swinging handle. They are dirty, and could use a good cleaning. The rust is surface only, with no sharp edges or eat throughs. Lot of 3 STEEL WHEEL STEM CASTERS 1 1/4" X 5/8" Steel Wheels These antique casters are all the same. The stem is 1" long and 1/4" in diameter except for the knob at the top which is about 5/16" in diameter. The overall measurement on these casters is about 2 3/4" Condition: The wheels are not dented or damaged and they all turn nicely without any wear. The stems are not bent. 4 TABLE LEGS HEAVY DUTY STEEL METAL ADJUSTABLE TAPERED VINTAGE MID CENTURY
For sale a Heavy Duty Set of 4 Vintage Table Legs that are made out of steel. These are fully and easily adjustable from 17 1/2 inches to 28 1/2 inches. The bottom discs on the legs are made out of steel also and they are movable. The diameter on the top of the leg is 1 1/16 of an inch and then it tapers down to about 5/8 of an inch not including the steel bases. These have 4 top plates that screw into the table as shown in the pictures. They measure at the longest end 8 3/4 inches by 4 5/8 inches wide. This is a very serious set of table legs. These weigh with the top plates about 11 1/2 pounds so they are quality. I do not know the exact age of these and am only guessing as to the time period of when they were made. We are offering a large lot of 4 Antique wheels for furniture- mainly Porcelain. But also steel and Wood. There are 2 Matched sets of four 1 1/2" Porcelain wheels with inserts that are in good shape plus a number of other singles or pairs and parts. Porcelain is in good shape, metal has some rust. In addition to the 8 1 1/2" that pretty well match, there is ninth one plus 3 more wheels the same size with broken or missing brackets. There are 5 single complete Porcelain wheels in smaller sizes, one wooden wheel and 3 metal wheels and at least 14 metal inserts. The title I just wrote pained me. I do not know enough about old wheels to write a proper title. These wheels are so simple yet complicated I am sure there is an actual word for them. I did see some other ads on Ebay use the words"steampunk" and"furniture" in their titles. I do not care about punking any steam, and I do not think this style caster was used on furniture. so I will omit those choices from my title. just because it makes no sense. Almost all the ads for similar wheels by different sellers are using an identical title. This tells me that sometime in the past, a successful seller used those words and their wheels sold at a reasonable price. It appears many of the current sellers looked at that ad, and copied it. Up for bid are 4 vintage steel heavy duty casters. I would guess these were used on an industrial cart or piece of machinery. The wheels turn freely. There is very little play in the assemblies. There is a fiber board gasket on 2 of them as can be seen in the pictures. I have no idea of the age. The wheels are about 1 3/4 inches in diameter and about 1 inch wide. This item/items as most of the things I sell. Came from an auction, flea market, estate sale or rummage sale.
