Dating from ... morethe 1870s to 1880s this is in great original finish dresser. It has burl raised panel picture frame panel molded drawers on the two large and four small drawers. It has dainty brass handle hardware which I am not sure are original. The keyhole escutcheon are the big round medallions. The candle shelves have heavy incise carved burl front shelf supports, burl walnut trim going up the mirror and the big crest on top with a doorbell looking medallion on the top. The mirror is bevel glass, which is normally straight glass. The drawers are all hand cut dove tail. The overall size is 48 inches wide, 21 inches deep and 90 inches high overall.

Both pieces have been refinished, but missing veneer work was not done, so, as you can see in pics 4& 8 there is slight edge veneer loss at the front side corners. In pic 5 you can barely see that the veneer has been re-glued. There are a few nicks here and there, and there are hardware circles around a couple of the drawer pulls, where the handles have been rotated and made a circle in the wood around. The hardware, as well as the design, makes this piece much more eye catching, with steel pulls and horizontal rosewood tips on each pull. This piece measures 54" x 32" x 18" deep. Antique Chippendale Sideboard Buffet Dresser Great for living room/bedroom. Lots of storage. Six drawers and center cabinet. The front of the drawers have a walnut veneer that adds beautiful contrast to the piece. It has beautiful carved claw legs(over balls) One of the drawers is missing a small part of it's veneer. There is a stress crack across the top and down one side. It was purchased this way. And does not impact the structural integrity of the piece. Wood filler in the crack is a light brown color on top amd darker on the side. One of the drawers has the original green felt inside. Minimal Work for such a regal piece. I am selling on behalf of the owner a very nice walnut brown stain dresser with oval tilt and swivel mirror. Great style and condition. The only repair is to the mirror holder. A metal plate was added to hold a joint together better. does not show from front. Measures 21" deep. 48" wide and 74" tall. Very good finish. Since this is a larger item it is for local pickup only unless you want to arrange for pickup and shipping. The owner has room to store this for a short while to give you time to pick up. I do not know the maker or exact date this vanity was made. I believe it is from the Art Nouveau era which makes it about 100 years old. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. Purchased through an estate sale in old Charleston, SC and in lovely condition for a late 19th century piece with three wonderful beveled mirrors, lovely burl walnut on the front of the drawers, six small drawers and two large drawers for lots of organized storage and a nice top surface. The finish is in good condition, commensurate with it's age with only the minor nicks and dents one would expect with respectful use over time. The three beautiful beveled mirrors are clear and in very good condition, free of cracks, chips or pitting. In my close up I show how easily these mirrors on the side remove for easy and safe transport then are simply hooked back in place. It was pulled from my great-grandparents' house in North Carolina many decades ago and kept at my grandmother's. The bar underneath the mirror indicates that it was used to hold a towel. This dresser might have been useful for holding a water pitcher and bowl before most folks even had running water in their homes. Wheels were added to the bottom for ease of use. This special piece is still quite functional. The mirror is really neat- it swings easily fowards and backwards via hinges. One can tell the glass in the mirror is really old. Up for your consideration is this beautiful dresser. I am 60 yrs old. My mother purchased this dresser for me at an auction when I was 20. At the time when my mom bought it. The dresser was an antique. That tells me it is at least 60 years old. I think it is walnut wood. I also think it is veneer. Please understand that I am not a wood expert so I could be wrong. The serpentine front is a complicated shape to create as it involves bending the wood several times to achieve the proper look. This dresser also has many other fine features that make it one of the nicer dressers we have ever seen. The corners are canted and fluted and the brass hardware is a really nice Chippendale style bain pull. The wood used on this antique chest of drawers is a lovely burl walnut. The frame appears to be a straight grain walnut. This burl has a tremendous amount of variation in it. Making it particularly pleasing to the eye. This antique dresser is in excellent condition. The finish is superb and there are no repairs. The drawers all open and close easily. They are also put together with hand cut dovetailed joints. A sign of quality craftsmanship.
