The front of the drawers have a walnut veneer that adds beautiful contrast to the piece. It has beautiful carved claw legs(over balls) One of the drawers is missing a small part of it's veneer. There is a stress crack across the top and down one side. It was purchased this way. And does not impact the structural integrity of the piece. Feet mostly original w/ repairs and restorations, c. 1770-90 Item# 120010OEY02 This is a beautiful bachelor's chest with fine proportions. Crafted of solid cherry wood throughout all primary surfaces. The case is crafted entirely using dovetail joinery, noting the sides which lock to the top with a half-blind dovetail, covered with a fine molded rim; the bottom mirrors the top construction, and the drawer divider bars dovetail into the face of the chest. These are of only partial depth, not full dustboards, typical of New England designs as it lessened the overall weight of the chest. The facade is four graduated drawers with bold batwing brasses, each replaced using nearly the same holes, ... morethe brasses of the same age as the chest. The drawer construction shows exquisite attention to detail, note the channeling along the top of the drawer framing, a design characteristic of Massachusetts(though also seen throughout other New England states) The sides of the chests wear fine brass carrying handles, each of magnificent proportions with original hand forged screws locking them to the chest. They are likely added to the chest, though since the chest would not have had brasses on the sides of the chest to start with this is difficult to prove. The chest rests on scroll cut bracket feet, mostly original with mostly original blocking, the right side of the feet replaced in exact replication of the rest of the chest. This is a gorgeous piece. A visual delight and crafted with utmost attention to detail. The cherry boards have a wonderful jagged flamed grain with just a tinge of the soft red hue associated with a natural cherry. With a clean overall appeal and a deep patina glowing through the high polish finish, this is a piece that will enhance your living spaces. Description: This listing is for a 20th Century Benchmade Chippendale Style Shell Carved Block Front Chest of Drawers over Ball and Claw Feet. This is an absolutely stunning work of art with attention shown in every detail of the case. The entire case is solid mahogany. With carefully selected grains that produce a glowing fire throughout. The rim is ruled around the front and sides over a top drawer with a gallery of three carved shells over the blocked encasements below. The two outmost shells are convex, carved out of solid mahogany, each flanking the concave central shell with a keyhole in the middle. The drawer has an incredible thick facade and, uniquely, no hardware- the key is meant to act as the pull hardware, the craftsman ... morenot wanting to distract from the shell carvings by adding hardware. The three following drawers feature incredible blocking over shaped molding that flows with the outline of the chest. Each drawer is hand dovetailed at the front and back, the top drawer having a single solid board bottom, each other drawer being two board construction. The case rests over incredible hand carved ball and claw feet, each flawlessly formed with detail in every joint, muscle and stretched nail. The back two feet are carved only in the front, much in the nature of the period chests, where an absence of any mechanical device meant everything was crafted by hand- the craftsman would regularly look for ways to reduce finishing work without detracting from the overall result of the case, as our craftsman did in this chest by leaving the back of the back feet unformed. This is one of the most precise and beautiful block front reproductions we've come across. An original block front is unattainable by all but the most affluent of collectors; this is the closest most of America will get to the real block front. A very fine antique. Circa 1920's, Chippendale style solid mahogany chest of drawers. The case is on four claw and webbed feet on bun. The case front corners are column fluted. The drawers are solid mahogany fronts, sides, and backs, the bottoms of maple(there is sticky contact paper that needs removing from the drawers. All original brass pulls with patina. The chest is in the original rich red finish, the top boards are with very fine tiny scratches, no ring spots. The side boards are also solid mahogany. Scratch to one drawer front needs Old English. Chest measures 36-1/2" tall by 39" wide by 19-1/2" deep.

This highly attractive reproduction American Chippendale Highboy emulates closely after the Philadelphia work centers. Probably crafted during the last years of the 19th century, the entire case is crafted by hand with thick solid walnut planks for primary surfaces. All secondary woods are heavy solid planks of oak, poplar and chestnut. The drawers are hand dovetailed front and back, the bottoms chamfered along the edges and set in grooves in the drawer frame. The brilliant brass batwing hardware is original to the case. The broken-arch ... morepediment boasts robust carved rosettes set beneath a deep molding flanked by flame carved finials. Of the eleven drawers lining the facade, two are embellished with recessed shell carvings, the knees and apron likewise showcasing detailed shell forms. The entire case rests over cabriole legs terminating in trifid feet. This is an absolutely gorgeous reproduction for anyone passionate about the American Chippendale form. The piece stands 86" tall to the top of the center finial. 39 1/2" wide, and 20 1/2" deep. The piece has a fantastic bonnet top with flame inspired finials along with fan or shell carved drawers, cabrio legs, all four ball in claw feet, and a scallop carved apron. We are unsure of the manufacturer as there are no markings however the top chest slides neatly into the bottom chest and has a combined total of 12 drawers. Chippendale Style Cherry bedroom set with a dreser with a mirror. A 5 drawer chest, and 1 single bed. Although I have the tailboard, it is currently a trundle bed so that there can be more space in the room when not in use, and easily flipped up to be a king size bed with two single mattresses for sleeping two. There are some marks on the bottom left of the drawer and it has had the heat of a radiator close to the side of the chest of drawers at some point in it's life. Neither of these things take away from the beauty of the set.
