CAST IRON MACHINE LEGS Stand Base Industrial Vintage Sewing Oak leg 'covers'
joe calcite INDUSTRIAL OAK& CAST IRON MACHINE LEGS STAND BASE This offering is for a set of cast iron sewing machine legs/ stand. BUT WITH A DIFFERENCE. I've seen the queen anne style legs, with the curve and'shoulder' part of the cast iron. In this case, the cast iron legs come with oak legs with a groove in the back to fit snugly over the iron and screw on from the rear. This gives you the option of using just the iron legs, or dressing them up with oak as your mood and decor dictate. To complete the transformation, I have included the trim pieces from the original upper cabinet so that the oak runs top to bottom. Unfortunately, the lower 5" of one is broken off, but placed on the side facing a wall or sofa, it would go unnoticed by most. Given the unique character, many wouldn't care. There are no cracks or breaks ... morein the iron. The paint was originally brown. But is now heavily worn with some light rust in places. The finish on the oak was dried out and flaking badly, so the rest of the finish was removed with a stiff brush and the exposed faces were clear coated. The wood itself is also worn. The legs measure 16" wide at the top, 13.5" wide at the bottom. Total height is 28" The stretcher is 23" wide, but can be replaced with a heavy threaded rod to place them closer together or further apart. Casters work but have a few flattened spots where its been dragged perpendicular to the wheels. This is a really nice three leg oak base with a barley twist pedestal or column. It measures 16 1/2" high and from center to center of the legs is 11 1/2" and the top is 7" square. Vintage Sellers Hoosier Oak Tambour Door Sliding Disappearing Cover Slatted
This oak tambour door(garage style door/cover) is in good original condition. As-found. I removed it from a Sellers Hoosier cabinet. It may have been painted at one time but I am not certain of this. It measures 39 5/16” wide by 12 ¾” and is 3/8” thick. The tambours are backed with canvas strips which allow the flexibility to bend around. It seems to be securely attached to the wood. The original handle/pull is included and attached. I salvaged all the usable pieces from the cabinet this came out of so if you are looking for other parts have a look. This listing is for the pair of fancy oak trimwork pieces pictured; they is made of 1/4 oak and finished on both sides. They are well over 100 years old as the piece they were used in dates to the late 1800's or very early 1900. Two wood pegs are in place on the bottoms of the pieces to anchor them in their original usage. The pieeces are 1 1/2" thick and the pair weighs 5 pounds. I estimate the packaged weight will be 9 pounds and the shipping cost is based on that weight. No international shipping. Payment is by PayPal and is expected within 24 hours of purchase. Offered is a set of 4 vintage Mid Century Modern table/ stool legs that measure right at 10 1/2 inches long; the tops are 1 3/8 across and the bottoms are 3/4 across. Also included are the original brackets and Phillips screws. Some age scuffs as pictured and the brass has age faded. The finish looks to be a medium oak. Looks like the brass needs a nail or something replaced. I can see where there was one but not now, they are a tad loose. That or I would suggest a tip pad perhaps from a hardware store/ department. The box is 23 3/8" long by 5" high x 10 7/8" wide. Decent as-found used condition. Tiny chip on front right bottom face. Water rippling of some of the bottom of drawer. Has a locking hook on the back left hand side.
