These ball and claw feet were removed from an antique. Likely Victorian era, table but are the right diameter for a chair or stool. They are heavy cast metal and clear glass. The white on our photo is flash reflection. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. The cast claws are in beautiful condition, of course not as polished(gold color) as they once were but likely they can be professional polished or plated. They measure 4" tall from the bottom of the glass, i.e. the floor, to the top. The top openings are about 3/4" in diameter. The fronts are lovely acanthus leaves with a hole in the back where one would put the screw to attache them firmly to the wooden furniture leg. Please ask any questions. Victorian Style Wooden Pedestal with 4 Legs for a Stool or Small Table
For your consideration is a vintage pedestal for a stool or small table; the way my camera flash in picture No. 9. I am thinking it is probably to a stool for a piano or organ. Each leg has five grooves in it that run the entre distance of the leg. It was very dirty when I purchased it. I cleaned and cleaned and could not see enough of the wood to determine what kind of wood it is made of, I finally used a small amount of varnish remover on it(I was amazed at how easily the thick varnish came off) and determined it was pine. It is 14 3/8" tall. Measuring from the furthest outside point of a leg to the furthest outside point of the opposite leg is 17 1/2" It is much less than perfect; it is old and has been used. That being said: Other than the crack; the wood is solid and would cleanup nicely. It does need refinished. Starting at ... morethe top and running down the side for 2 1/2" is a crack. Also there are some minor chips. All damage shows in at least one picture. Please carefully examine the pictures; as the pictures are part of the description.
