W/cast iron legs to hold it up. The table top is probably an old formica{ top that is ... moresat on a piece of wood. The top formica piece looks like it could be easily removed as it is already somewhat loose if one wanted to replace it or they could possibly reglue it. It is just a thin layer on a thicker piece of wood. You will see signs of paint loss and scratching to the table top as well as stains and dirt wear, formica top has stains, scratching, tiny holes from other items being attached at one time& and other possibble signs of age and use. Table width is 15 1/2" Length is 42 1/2" height is 40 1/2" from floor to top of table. The table legs are cast iron. They are painted black and you will notice some signs of age. Use and wear w/some scratching, possible paint loss, pitting, dirt that would be normal for a table such as this. This was a work table so please expect signs of use. Age and storage. These are very heavy duty.carrying an eight foot work top when found. They have a notch built in to hold a stretcher/ reinforcing board. The top piece has a built in 1.5" step up from front to back. As well as a brace for a backsplash. There are no maker's or foundry marks that I found. The rust is very light and much of it is'flash' rust caused by all the rain and moisture in the last weeks. No cracks were found. One small chip on one foot can be seen in photo 11. There is some reddish paint on the front of one leg. The height from the floor to the lower brace is 9" To the top of the front section is 30.5" to the top of the rear section is 31" to the top of ... morethe backsplash brace is 37" On the top, the front/lower section is 13.5" deep, and the rear/upper section is 15.5" deep. This is a beautiful turn of the century matched pair of genuine Kenney Wolkins signed thick cast iron table legs. They are in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks and the black paint is in good condition with moderate paint loss. They adjust from 17.5" to 24.5" and are all original with large nut screw adjustments. Screws and slides all run smoothly and they lock down nice and tight. Bignall Medina NY Machine Age Industrial Deco Cast Iron Table Base Leg Old Paint
Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Here is gorgeous antique cast iron table base or stand– it has a really great cross between Art Deco and Machine Age Industrial Steampunk designs. It also has some really fantastic old green paint on it. One side is marked MEDINA NY and the other side is marked BIGNALL CO. This stand or base stands 19 ¾” tall at the top rim and measures 8” across the bottom of the base. The circular top measures 13” across at the outside edges and 12 ½” across at the inside rim or shelf. One side of that inside shelf is marked 12 1/2. Each side has a graceful arched arm for supporting the top piece. The arches ... moreor support arms have a series of circular cutouts in graduated sizes. There is a small square nut sort of quick soldered or tacked in one of the smaller circles– it looks like it will pop right out with a bit of force and a screwdriver. But I left it there. The original owner must have modified it for some reason to suit his needs. It does not have anything to do with the structural integrity of the piece. The center post is attached to the stacked domed base. The top circular rim is attached with screws, nuts, and bolts- I took pictures of how the it is attached from underneath. There is no damage to this piece– no breaks. Cracks, or repairs. There is flaking and missing old green paint here and there with the original black paint showing through. The underside of the base has some rusting, but there are no areas of pitting or weakness in the metal. I gave this piece a quick wipe down with some warm water and a sponge and dried it completely– nothing else. This base will be a work of art– well, it already is. This is a very nice 2 tier or multi tier antique cast iron base that was made by Kenney Bros. Wolkins Inc. of Boston MA. It would make a great stand or end table and was originally part of an early school desk. It measures 29 1/2" high x 23" deep. The base is 11" wide x 16" deep, the bottom tier is 16 1/2" from the floor and is 9 1/2" in diameter, the upper tier is 29 1/2" from the floor and is 10" wide x 8 1/2" deep. They are the same on the bottom& tops of legs very ornate feet just the center is different& they are unmarked. Not sure if these are older ones or manufacturer also made them for another company. In excellent condition no chips or cracks. They had surface rust& have been sanded& are ready to be primed& painted Wheels do not turn. This is a whole desk but is too heavy so I am just selling the legs from it. I wanted you to see what it could look like as a desk but the wood is bad in some spots but you could easily replace the wood if you wanted it as a desk again. Before you ask the only way I would sell this complete is if you come and pick it up because it is just too heavy as is. The metal legs could make an awesome table base or whatever else you can think of. I'm not sure if they are cast iron or steel but they are heavy which is good for using as a base. Industrial Ornate Cast Iron Table Leg Set - Vintage
This a nice pair of vintage cast iron furniture legs purchased about 10-12 years ago from a salvage yard in the Berkeley/Oakland area in CA. The story is that they were a matched pair with marble tops. But the marble was gone when these were purchased. They are in very good condition, and would make a nice set of legs for new marble tops. Age and manufacturer are not available, as there are no cast-in markings. The table legs are 28-1/2" high. Each leg is 15" wide at the top and bottom. The legs are 27-1/2" apart. And are separated by a middle trussed spacer, which have two threaded studs on each end. The legs are held together by two nuts on each side, which hold the middle trussed spacer. These legs can be used to make either one large table, or two smaller matching tables. One stud broke off. And was replaced by drilling ... moreinto the end, and potting a threaded 5/16-18 threaded rod with epoxy into the drilled hole(see picture) Also please note that some of the threaded studs are bent, but are functional(see pictures) The legs weigh 21 pounds each. For a total of 42 pounds. RARE Antique Cast Iron Machine Age Industrial Adjustable Mini Table Base Legs
Here we have a rare pair of antique Machine Age industrial table legs by the Chandler company. I have never seen a pair like these. They are smaller and skinnier then the legs you will find normally making them perfect for a coffee table or a side table. These legs are adjustable up to about 17 1/2 inches tall and as low as about 12 3/4 inches tall. When measuring the feet of these legs from toe to toe these legs are about 8 3/4 inches wide.
