This auction is for 5 vintage coasters or casters for furniture. 1. The glass one has a lot of wear and it is 3 inches across it is heavy. If you look closely at the picture it shows that it has a blemish on the glass which was when it was made the one side is like"melted" wavy down a groove sort of thing. It is unique with that. 2. This is a porcelain pottery caster/coaster it measures 2 3/4 inches. It is shiny and solid. Heavy, on the back side it has E 8, I dont know what the means, but that is what it has, I have shown this in the picture. 3. This coaster caster is a lighter reddish brown rubber material. It has groves and a wavy patter in the groove, on the back it has VELVA in an oval and above that I cant read looks like VAN. PR. INC. below the oval it has BROOKLYN, NY USA; This measures 2 1/2 inches across. 4. This coaster ... morecaster is a dark brown rubber and hard. It has a graduated within to the center, and it has on the back no mark just a spiral raised line from the center out to the edge. This measures about 2 inches across. 5. This last coaster caster item is silver plate metal it is a square shape. It has 4 peg legs. On the back it has in a circle going around it has VAN BERGH SILVERPLATE ROCHESTER NY USA, and in the center of the circle QUADRUPLE PLATE, out side of the circle it has what looks like 1.00. On the outside border it has what looks like swirling leaves, petals and flowers. I have tried to show this all in the photos. They all show wear as they were all used for furniture. Here's a great set of glass furniture coasters(you will receive an extra one in case you loose/ break one! I believe these are English in origin as they were purchased in a lot at an English container auction in the early 90s. They measure approx 2 1/4 inches across and approx 1/2 inches lip around the side. They are in average condition for their age(see pictures) They are without any chips or cracks. These ball and claw feet were removed from an antique. Likely Victorian era, table but are the right diameter for a chair or stool. They are heavy cast metal and clear glass. The white on our photo is flash reflection. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. The cast claws are in beautiful condition, of course not as polished(gold color) as they once were but likely they can be professional polished or plated. They measure 4" tall from the bottom of the glass, i.e. the floor, to the top. The top openings are about 3/4" in diameter. Furniture/piano stool feet - Glass - cast iron - ball - Antique - Collectible
These four cast iron and glass ball feet came off a piano stool which was beyond repair. The feet are about 4” tall. With a 7/8” inside diameter opening, that tapers to about ½” at the bottom. The glass balls are full of tiny bubbles, have a horizontal casting seam in the middle, and a ½” diameter flattened spot on the bottom. This will cast them at approximately an 80 °( angle when flat on the floor. They are dirty and the gold paint is worn. Otherwise. They are in good, antique condition. Selling a large glass claw and ball table foot. The glass ball is a amethyst color and is 3 inches in diameter. The glass ball has have a couple of small fractures in the glass. But no chips or missing pieces. The line in the pics is the mold seam from when the glass ball was made. The center toe of the foot has a face on it. Could be called Old Man winter. The metal part appears to be cast iron with old gold paint on it. The opening of the leg part is 1 5/8 inches outside to outside. Inside to inside is approx. 1 3/8 inches in diameter. This is a set of 4 Gothic/Victorian style cast iron claw feet. They measure approximately 4" tall and 3/4" diameter at the opening. These would be a great addition to a piece of furniture as they are head turners. Each claw holds a glass ball that acts as the base that touches the floor. There is obvious wear. As there should be for any items of this age but overall I would say these are in good vintage condition. Each foot has a hole in the back to attach to the furniture leg with a set screw. Very nice detailing. These are authentic as I took them off an old round table. The glass is not broken and they have a swivel attachment which moves on all. The measurement is 2 inches across and are 2 1/2 inches tall. The bottom on all have wear and are original. Set of 4 ORIGINAL Cast Iron and Glass Ball& Claw Feet in AWESOME condition. Just the slightest amount of wear on the bottom of the glass balls where they were sllid along a floor for 100 years or so. The wear spots are IMPOSSIBLE to see when they are standing as they should on a table or other piece of furniture. Pix do not do them justice as it is nearly impossible to capture the bubbles. Streaks& swirls within the glass. One ball has a green streak inside that is incredible to look at. Iron"claw" feet are Eagle's Talons and appear to have once been gilded but they now have a nice mellow raw cast iron patina. Each weighs almost 2-1/2 pounds! These are NOT REPRODUCTIONS and are getting increasingly harder to find especially in this condition. Glass ball is approx 3" diameter(about the size of a baseball) individual ... morefingers are approx 3" long and the mount is 2-1/2" long with a 1-3/8" opening that tapers to approx 3/4" at the bottom. These need to be used on something that will give them the attention they deserve. Up for auction is this old furniture claw and ball foot. It is a gold color but has scuffs. A area of light gray paint has splattered on it, and gold loss so it would need to be repainted. At the bottom there is a glass ball which has scuffs in several areas-see photos. The inside looks tarnished/discolored from age. Lot 6 BEAUTIFULLY PRESERVED Antique GLASS-SLIDER CASTERS Each caster is large. 3.5" diameter x 4" tall, heavy- each over 10 ounces. There are two stems that have partial manufacture's name(see photos) There are 4 different component parts: The flat clear/green-tinge slider glass. A flat metal plate(brass? A metal stem including 10 metal rings(brass? and a pivotal ball(see photo) And a metal(gray-toned) grip neck socket. The metal is rusty and needs cleaning. The glass is clear with a few bubbles from the factory. There are no cracks or chips to the glass. It appears that they are unused. These are GREAT antique casters! We sell vintage and quality glass.
