joe calcite INDUSTRIAL CAST IRON WORKBENCH/ TABLE LEGS This offering is for a set of vintage or antique cast iron table or workbench(work bench) legs. These are very heavy duty.carrying an eight foot work top when found. They have a notch built in to hold a stretcher/ reinforcing board. The top piece has a built in 1.5" step up from front to back. As well as a brace for a backsplash. There are no maker's or foundry marks that I found. The rust is very light and much of it is'flash' rust caused by all the rain and moisture in the last weeks. No cracks were found. One small chip on one foot can be seen in photo 11. There is some reddish paint on the front of one leg. The height from the floor to the lower brace is 9" To the top of the front section is 30.5" to the top of the rear section is 31" to the top of ... morethe backsplash brace is 37" On the top, the front/lower section is 13.5" deep, and the rear/upper section is 15.5" deep. The usable space between the front and back legs, for a shelf for instance, is 15" The distance from the back of the splash brace to the front lip is 30.5" Distance between the outer edges of the front and back feet is 24" Each leg weighs just under 60 pounds. This is a very nice 2 tier or multi tier antique cast iron base that was made by Kenney Bros. Wolkins Inc. of Boston MA. It would make a great stand or end table and was originally part of an early school desk. It measures 29 1/2" high x 23" deep. The base is 11" wide x 16" deep, the bottom tier is 16 1/2" from the floor and is 9 1/2" in diameter, the upper tier is 29 1/2" from the floor and is 10" wide x 8 1/2" deep. They are smaller and skinnier then the legs you will find normally making them perfect for a coffee table or a side table. Vintage Cast Iron Machine or Table Base The wood table height is 24" from floor and 18"wide by 29" width What a great TV stand! The cast iron base is about 21-1/2" height. The feet are 23" square at the floor. This came from a blacksmith shop and had an anvil on it but I think it originally was for some sort of belt driven machine as there is evidence of an arbor. The top shows a lot of wear and grime. There is a semi-circle section of iron that was removed from one of the legs. Please see close up on the fifth picture. On the inside of each leg there is a bracket to support a shelf. What better for a TV stand? As pictured the table weighs 100 pounds with a ship weight of 120 pounds. This has to be my favorite pair of antique Machine Age Industrial Cast Iron table legs. They are the smallest set we have ever offered and the most unique. Although they are smaller than most. They are very sturdy- they weigh in at 3.5lbs each. These tri-pod table legs can be used with either end up or down and they stand freely on their own both ways. Each leg stands 16 ¼” tall and spans 6” wide at the three footed end. The long flat bracket measures 7 ½” long. 1 ¼” wide, and has 3 holes for mounting screws. The other end measures ... more7 ¼” long from each end of the 2 mounting feet, and each of these feet measures 1” x 1 ½” The attached 3 rd leg measures 10” long from where it is attached and the foot on each one is 1 ¾” x 7/8” Each foot has a single hole for a mounting screw. The attached 3 rd leg has only the smallest amount of play where the screw is– it does not fold flat and is not meant too. These legs are in eggsellent condition with no damage– no cracks. Chips, breaks, or repairs. They have most of the original thick black paint left on them, but there are some areas of wear and chipped paint. The mounting brackets and feet have that light rust color which can be removed easy enough…no metal loss anywhere. Item Details Description Set of antique Machine Age industrial table legs. These table bases are about 28-1/2 inches tall. The top mounting area is about 12-1/2" inches wide. The feet of the legs are about 18 inches apart when measured from toe to toe. As you can see from the photos these legs have places for the stabilizer bars which are included. The stabilizer bars bolt through the legs and attach to the bottom of the top. Legs will need to be about 25" apart to use the stabilizer bars on the angle they fit to the legs. You could go longer if desired. One leg gas small crack in the top cross piece by the finial. And there is a casting imperfection(bubble) on the leg just below the cross piece on the same leg. The legs and stabilizer bars have been sandblasted lightly using Q-Rock glass sand. There is some pitting damage to the ... moreone foot but doesn't look bad. The old-timer that sold it to us said that it came out of a machine shop& milling operation that had been in business since the early 1900's and he purchased it from them"a long while back" It will be beautiful restored and put back in service or leave it as is and create an amazing conference table. Restaurant table or bar. It is heavy- he estimated about 1.300 pounds. It is very solid and in exceptionally good condition with no cracks we can see. It has been quickly power washed but still has grease, grime and dust on it. The legs are bolted to the deck with square bolts- 4 top each side but one side is missing a bolt. There is a section on one end on one side that has been cut ... moreout- probably modified after the fact, but we aren't sure. There are holes in each foot for mounting. There are no maker marks or tags that we can see. Here are the measurements(all are close approximates) 8' 4" long 14" wide on the top of the deck 33" tall 24" wide at the base of the legs 11" from the top of the legs to the top Regarding shipping: We are located in San Luis Obispo. ANTIQUE VINTAGE CAST IRON TABLE MACHINE BASE LEGS FACTORY INDUSTRIAL AGE LOOK
Here we have a very nice matching set of 4 older vintage antique cast iron table or Machine base legs. I found these years ago while urban camping in an abandoned factory in New York City that was being demolished and I had permission to strip out. When found they were attached to a wooden top which was in rough condition so I just removed the legs and took it. Looks like it was a table that held parts that they were making. Legs measure about 20 1/2 inch tall, the top is about 3 1/2 inch along each edge. I think they are actually pressed steel but kind of hard to tell, could be cast iron. They have several coats of old paint with some loss and prior coats showing through, might have had an original porcilin finish, in any case they have a wonderful patina finish with a great look now I think. Antique Industrial Cast Iron New York Work Table Legs Base
Very nice heavy cast iron industrial table base. The legs are about 33" tall. 30" across, and 23" wide. This is a great start to an industrial style table. It already has a cross support beam so you basically just have to bolt/screw something to the top and it is stable. It was made by H. Maidhof in New York. It has raised letters on the cross section and both arches on the legs. I left the patina and aged look on. This is being sold just as I dug it up. Was part of a railroad repair companies' work room just north of Baltimore. They were using it as a work bench and had a small vice attached to one end. Each leg has 4 holes on the top surface so this base works well with both glass and wood. Please contact me with any questions. Antique Machine Age Cast Iron Industrial Legs Table Base Wheels and Pulley
Bidding on this ornate cast iron base from the turn of the Century. Has a pulley wheel on the side. As well as a pair of wheels on each side panel. The wood can be removed. The pulley can be removed. The original design has the pulley on the inside of the base. But if you replace two screws with longer ones(you can get at home depot) you can mount on the outside. Measures about 28" tall and 30 inches wide. again the width can be elongated by going to home depot and getting a threaded bar. The item comes dis-assembled. 4 flat head screws(included) hold it in place. the wood sides also 2 flat head screws each panel expect some light surface rusting and the normal wear from an antique that's one hundred years old.
