Up for sale is this pair of vintage metal industrial factory cart swivel wheel casters. These casters are in good used condition with normal light wear. Each caster measures 2 7/8" tall and the steel wheel has a 2" diameter by 1" wide. The mounting plate measures 3" by 1 3/4" This pair was purchased at auction from the closing of the Historic Hershey Chocolate Factory Plant in Hershey. PA. set of 4 vintage unusual porcelain casters furniture cart
A set of 4 unusual style porcelain casters. The porcelain wheel is apr. 1 7/8 inch in diameter and apr. 1 1/4 inch wide. The overall height is apr. 5 inches with the shaft part being 3 inches long. One of the casters has some chips on both side of the wheel by the hub/ axle part which is shown in a close up. The chips do not affect anything. The porcelain does show wear/ staining? where it made contact with the floor. The porcelain will need a good cleaning with the proper cleaner. The pictures should show the rest. Up for bid are 4 vintage steel heavy duty casters. I would guess these were used on an industrial cart or piece of machinery. The wheels turn freely. There is very little play in the assemblies. There is a fiber board gasket on 2 of them as can be seen in the pictures. I have no idea of the age. The wheels are about 1 3/4 inches in diameter and about 1 inch wide. For sale is a set of 4 VINTAGE INDUSTRIAL SWIVEL CASTERS Tool Cart WHEELS 2" Cast iron wheels in good working condition. The wheels are 2"x 1" All casters are swivel type. all rotate freely. May need some lubricant applied to them. The mounting plate( stamped metal) measures 2 5/8"x 1-7/8" holes are 2"x 1" 1/4" hole diameter. They are used and show signs of wear. RARE circa 1870 Grosse Industrial Porcelain & Cast Iron Casters Cart Furniture
For sale is a set of four circa 1870's Grosse furniture casters. Each is signed Grosse& Pat. Apr 26 70" The are very unique casters as they were made to fasten to the corners of furniture legs rather than a rod through the center. After alot of research these appear to be the only ones known to exist. Some references can be found online but no other physical examples. The exact patent information can be found on google using the patent date. Measurements- The screw holes are spaced approx 7/8" apart. They measure 2-1/2" tall from the ground to the top. The wheels are approx 9/16" wide& 1-1/8" tall. All of the wheels turn smooth and have no break or chips anywhere. Only some mild surface rust that is to be expected. Lot is being sold as is.
