The mirror is awesome with the old silver effect to it. One of the small mirrors on the side has a small crack in it. Overall it is in great condition dating from the 1870s to 1880s. The overall size is 55 inches wide on the base, 21 inches deep, 17 inches high to the marble base, 96 inches high overall. Antique Victorian Solid Oak Mirror Beveled Glass 1800's Handcarved Primitive
Here is a early to mid 1800's solid oak mirror with beveled glass. For its age. It's in great shape. The mirror itself could use some attention but there are no cracks or scratches. The top left corner of the glass shows some deterioration. The mirror is still quite clear and vivid. The glass also has a couple of air bubbles in it. The frame is made of solid oak with nice joints on the top corners. The carving up top was all done by hand as is simple yet very elegant. The frame measures 20.5" wide x 17" tall(measured from the top of the design carving) The frame is approx 3/4" thick. It had a solid wood back that is nailed to the frame. Antique Renaissance style cast Brass frame beveled mirror Baucus crest
This unusual Ladies Dressing table mirror measures 10” wide by 14” high and has had it’s beveled mirror replaced over the century and a quarter since it was made. Beside an almost microscopic crack 1/8” just under the amazing cast of Baucus at the top of the mirror this antique art is flawless. Not easy to take a flash or even a non flash photo of a mirror. And still show the bevel! It seems to always get the photographers' background in it, and that's NOT what I wanted to show! The glass is nearly like new, with just a bit of age showing. The deep bevel is not easy to photograph, so it doesn't show very well, but it is looking good! The total size is 16 3/4" on the wooden base, X 7 1/2" top to base. The mirror alone is approx. 12" wide by 5 1/2" and it fits very tight in the frame. It has NOT been taken out of the frame, just LEFT ALONE! The backing is original as well and weighs nearly 3 lbs. We SUPER pack everything we sale, and this mirror will get even more attention and care. It MAY have been from the back of a sheet music cabinet, or something else as small. But it does look great alone on ... morea wall, and brightens up a blah spot. Small enough to not take over a place in a hall, but still a bit of light and class! This is a rare and beautiful quarter sawn tiger oak mirror with original hat hooks. And in very good original condition considering the age. Original mirror, beveled glass, Overall dimensions 28" tall by 36-1/2" Wide; the mirrored area is 23-1/2" wide x 19" tall. Some of the silvering is gone from the back of the plate glass that is the actual mirror itself and you can see dark blotches in the back. Typical of an 1800's piece. There are also a few imperfections in the mirror glass, a sign that the glass itself is original. There are also a few marks from wear on the wood and glass, which you would also expect from a mirror of this age. The lower middle 2 hat hooks are available(and shown) but the mirror will need to have a minor repair to install both hooks(but all pieces are there) The wood veneer covering the back ... moreof the frame is old and irregular as you can see from the photos.
