It is made of mahogany and the secondary woods are birdseye maple.It has a oval brass mirror with the orginal beveled mirror that is in good condition.The pair of sconces are brass and have been electricfied.The height of the dressing table from the bottom to the top of the mirror is 36 inches and the width is 32 inches and 20 inches deep. Purchased through an estate sale in old Charleston, SC and in lovely condition for a late 19th century piece with three wonderful beveled mirrors, lovely burl walnut on the front of the drawers, six small drawers and two large drawers for lots of organized storage and a nice top surface. The finish is in good condition, commensurate with it's age with only the minor nicks and dents one would expect with respectful use over time. The three beautiful beveled mirrors are clear and in very good condition, free of cracks, chips or pitting. In my close up I show how easily these mirrors on the side remove for easy and safe transport then are simply hooked back in place. Antique Mahogany Vanity Dressing Table Made in England
This is a superb solid mahogany vanity dressing table made in England circa 1900. To the base it has a knee hole or some times in England years ago they used to let the dog sleep in there.They called it a dog kennel, it has the original cut glass handle. The top has the original beveled mirror. And to either side there are two small trinket drawers for jewelry etc. Condition is very good. The top comes of the base so its easy to transport. Antique 1916 Mahogany Dresser / Dressing Table / Vanity with Mirror
THIS ITEM IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP IN IRWIN. PA 15642 ONLY. NO SHIPPING. Antique vanity/ dresser/ dressing table with mirror. The finish is a dark brown. As shown in the pictures. The facing is missing in a couple places. The mirror has two side mirrors that fold in and out. It has 5 drawers; each drawer has a lock mechanism that looks like it accepts the old style skeleton keys, but I don't have a key for it. The size is about 20 inches deep, 44 inches wide, and 59 inches high. Although I can't tell what they mean, there are several markings on it. Stamped into the wood on the back are the numbers 4474 and 57. 4474 seems like it was important to the manufacturer, because it is in 3 separate places. The mirror is very delicately attached to the dresser. I took the wooden back panel off the mirror to see how it was attached and figure out ... morehow to make it more sturdy, and discovered that the back of the mirror is stenciled with the date June 13, 1916 and an"N" and a"P" which may be the mirror manufacturer's logo. On the inside of the wooden back panel are the words"4474 Mahogany" hand written in cursive pencil. The number"48-88" is stenciled inside the back panel also. 4474 Mahogany Toilet" is also hand written in pencil inside one of the left hand drawers, along with what looks to be the"48-88" again. I looked online but couldn't find information on what these numbers mean or where the vanity came from(or how much it's really worth) I also don't know if"Mahogany" is meant to be the color of the finish, or the type of wood it's made of. The mirror doesn't come off for transportation. It is attached only with 4 screws through the wood mirror frame into the desk part. Which is why the center mirror rocks back and forth a little when the vanity is moved. It could be braced more securely but I don't want to put more screws into it, the new owner can do that. Lovely eight piece oriental themed dressing table set. Probably 1930's to 1950's in my opinion. All marked Made In England but no makers name anywhere. Unusual to see these sets with a tray. The mirror has a very nice bevelled glass in it. The oriental pictures are printed and not embroidered. All pieces in good condition except for the following points. The lidded powder bowl has no liner or powder puff and the picture is a little loose and the long handle on the hair brush has a dent in either side as seen in the last two pictures. Chippendale ladies dressing table vanity. With walnut finish dating from the 1940s era. In reasonable condition for its age. There are scratches on the surface top which could be buffed out. This piece is structurally sound and would be great in any home with a little bit of TLC. The base is burl walnut, with walnut carved cabriole legs, contoured front, and four front outside drawers and one reverse center drawer, all retaining their original Chippendale style hardware. The overall size is 49 1/2 inches across, 15 inches deep, 30 1/2 inches high to the top of the base cabinet, and 68 inches high to the top of the mirror. Overall. The wood used is a lovely mahogany wood. It has been adorned(as was common for Edwardian period furniture) with a satinwood and ebony inlay around the drawer fronts ... moreand raised top sections. This dressing table had. At one time, a top with a mirror. This is no longer present and the holes where this would have been attached have been expertly filled. Each of the four drawers is constructed with hand cut dovetails. Making them quite strong. They slide quite well on their wooden runners. Round, brass ring pulls adorn each drawer and really complete the look of the whole dresser. Finally, the four tapered legs end in casters which have been replaced at some point in the dresser’s life. Besides a few old wear marks to the top and front. And one minor age separation on the lower top section, this Edwardian dressing table is in very good condition. It is sturdy and will last for generations to come. 1930-1940's Art Deco Wood Inlay Vanity Dressing Table with Round Mirror
Multiple types of wood inlays were used on this circa 1930-1940's vanity to enhance the Art Deco design of the piece. Just beautiful! The large 39 3/4" diameter mirror sits on the 4-drawer vanity top; there is a round marbled wood medallion in the middle. The drawers are dovetailed. The reflective back of the mirror is worn though you can see yourself clearly. The top of the dresser has a crack that you can see in the third photo. Some of the wood veneer inlay is missing at the bottom of the drawers and the bottom of the middle panel. There is a repair made on the back of the piece that you can see in picture# 3. Right side.
