Vintage Barbola Style Dresser Easel Mirror Moulded & Painted Resin Beveled Glass
Up for auction is a vintage Barbola Style dresser mirror with a plastic paste(not gesso) crest of flowers and ribbon surrounding a beveled glass mirror and mounted on a wooden easel back frame. These mirrors were made in the 1920's and 1930's by making a plastic paste of resin and sawdust and moulding and painting the flowers and ribbon trim. The mirror is 10 1/2" tall and it is 8 1/2" across. It has two wooden bun feet in the front. It is not marked. The condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. Details This dresser wardrobe combination measures 44 inches wide 22 inches deep and 73 inches tall to the top of the mirror. It looks like brazilian rosewood. All the drawers slide smooth and have ring pulls. It has dovetailed drawers. The mirror is beveled and tilts. There is carving on the sides of the front of the piece and above the mirror. It comes with it's original key to lock the cabinet and the top drawer of the dresser. The glass front cabinet has a wardrope rack to hang clothes. But there are also pegs, where two shelves could be added and it could be used as a bookcase/cabinet instead. There is also a light that has ... morebeen added to the interior of that cabinet.
