The metal hooks(shown pictured in the drawer) are to hold the mattress. All the drawers have dove tails. All drawers move freely. The tall dresser has 3 drawers. The top drawer is decorative. I believe all the hardware is original. It is matching and in great condition. Babys Room: The vanity could be used as a changing table if you take the mirror off. A very nice Victorian era oak bent wood stick and ball vanity. Dressing, or decor two panel screen. This wonderful C1890's folding style screen still has its original varnish finish-which is in very fine condtion. All of the metal connectors, washers, and screws are solid brass. Many of the connectors are stamped with the folowing: Pat. Feb. 16'92(1892) This vanity or bedroom screen is in exceptional condition. No broken, missing, or damaged sticks, balls, or spindles. No cracks in the bentwood sections. The metal rods that hold the cloth for the panels appear to be all original. They have a round metal ball on each end that fits perfectly into a round hole on the vertical oak dowels. The screen can be positioned at almost any angle, and folds neatly in half if desired. The center below the mirror is adorned with a textured glass surface reflecting a pale blue colour. Antique Federal style mirrored vanity dating from the early 1900's. Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this piece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. An inlay medallion of a lamp has been placed atop the three-part folding mirror. Two small. Dovetailed drawers sit to each side of a long shallow central drawer with a lock. Sorry, no key! Slender tapered legs support the structure and give this piece a light, airy quality. This piece is in very good condition. There are a few very tiny dots of silverloss to the mirrors(they would not show up in pictures) But no cracks or other damage. The wood has some wear associated with age as well, including chips and breakage to the veneers or inlay. See pictures. Although the piece seems structurally sound, there is also a slight sag in the middle. I was also unable ... moreto open the middle drawer, either because of warpage or because it was locked. No other breaks or repairs. The vanity stands 60.5" tall and is 44 1/4" wide and 21 1/4" deep. For your consideration I have a beautiful antique vanity. I have owned this piece for the past 18 years and just adore it. However it just does not fit into the style of my current home and I can not see painting over such a nice piece of furniture to make it match. This piece is not in mint condition. It has wear and tear from 3 separate moves. The top portion needs some fine refinishing. This vanity has been refinished before by a professional. This is a very old vanity or dresser set in great condition. The items appear to be bakelite but I am going by what I was told when I purchased the lot at an estate sale. The pictures show the pieces to have a design or it might be stains that bleed throughout the backs with metal tear drops in the center. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. I only used water to clean these because I did not want to jeapordize damaging the set with any chemicals. The measurements are as follows. Mirror: 10 inches long X 3 1/2 inches wide. 1920-1930's Vanity Mirror Tray, Etched Glass Antique Art Nouveau Plateau Perfume
Volack Mirrored Vanity Tray. This gorgeous vanity mirror tray features a brass gallery with double-bird handles. This gallery is connected to a wide beveled glass base through four drilled holes. The wide outer glass rim is decorated with etched floral vines. The vanity tray rests on four brass ball feet and the underside still has its original green felt backing and paper label. The fabulous Art Nouveau style label declares that“ Volack mirror plate reflects quality” This label also mentions that the company was established in 1856. But there is no city or country of origin listed. This large tray measures just under 18” 45.5 cm) in length. It has a width of 11 3/8” 29 cm) and stands 1 1/8” 2.8 cm) tall at the handles. This delicate item will be carefully wrapped and double boxed to ensure safe delivery. Condition: This lovely old piece ... moreis in good condition and displays well. But does have age damage to the mirror’s silvered backing. The mirror has no chips or cracks, but it does have some small scratches from use. There is quite a lot of streaking, spotting and faint yellowing of the silvered underside of the mirror glass(see photos) In addition this silvered layer has an overall“crackled” appearance and has flaked off in a couple of places along the edges. Of course much of the mirror’s surface would be hidden from view when displayed with perfume bottles covering it on your vanity. The floral etched outer rim is in very good shape, with a few light scratches, but no cloudiness. We found five tiny nicks on the outer edges of this floral etched glass(see photos) There are also several tiny insignificant“flea bite” nibbles here and there on the outer edge, but these are not noticeable at all. The green felt backing on the underside of the tray is in very good shape, but it has one yellowed stain located near one of the feet. As with all of our auctions.
