Blue Vintage Shabbied All wood dresser with mirror,bohemian,shabby chic
I used French Enamel Miss Mustard Seed paint with other colors on this piece. Dresser was sealed with clear wax leaving a smooth surface. This piece was in pretty rough shape in places but those areas were left as is to add to the rustic effect of the dresser. The dresser was cleaned and sealed inside and out. There is no old smell. Drawers were finished with a natural clear minwax brightening the natural color. All drawers slide smoothly. Flourishing is hand painted to add a whimsical elegant look with the crystal antique knobs. I loved working on this long project but the end result is"just too cute" I don't mind saying so myself. This is a waterfall style antique dresser. It has been painted with chalk paint. Distressed, and waxed to protect the finish. Stenciled numbers have been added to the drawers. The drawer handles are original but have been embellished with a coat of silver paint. Very sturdy. Drawers are dovetailed. Some of the veneer had chipped off but was painted over to give it a weathered and worn patina. Any other items seen in the photos are considered props and not included in this auction. Original Shadowbox Mirror& Shelf French Provincial style. Numbered on back but no trademark. The sideboard is made of wood with very old mirror behind it. Mirrors have some normal wear but no cracks. Condition: signs of wear consistent with age and use. Minor use marks and surface scratches. Structurally sound. One has a single shelf slightly wiggly but can be reinforced. Wanamaker was the large department store in New York and Philadelphia. Wanamaker was a high end store. Solid construction. Drawers are dove tail construction. Hand painted. Chalk style paint. And a protective wax finish. Era is early 1900’s- 1940’s. Ready to give another 80+ years. The night stand does have some veneer on one side that is half missing.
