It's very heavy and beautifully carved with tusks up the legs and around the top, and the legs resemble trunks. It isn't flawless and has wear from age and use including a chip at the top of one of the legs as shown in pictures 8, 9, and 11. There are some red stains, perhaps can be removed but we didn't try in order not to compromise the finish on the wood; I noticed them when looking close. The most noticeable spot of red can be seen by zooming in on picture 7. Although it's in good condition, you might want to glue and tighten up some of the seams. It is 17-1/2" in height x 13" across the top x 16" across the legs. It weighs a glorious 19 lbs. European, Possibly Italian Item# 120008IRU26 This is a work of exquisite craftsmanship. Covered in a thick mahogany and rosewood veneer. The colors exemplified in this chest are simply remarkable. Inlaid with fine marquetry work, the musical instruments central to the commode are flanked on either side by books hanging from knotted ribbon. Two large drawers make up the case, each fully dovetailed front and back, exposed on the sides. Crisp gilt bronze mounts grace the corners and feet, allowing the cabriole legs to terminate in lion paw feet. The shaped marble top is heavy and in wonderful condition, restored at the back left corner. It came out of a Belgian ... morecontainer, and has two columns with curved doors underneath to reveal shelves, hand-cut dovetail curved drawers that are banded and pinstriped and still retain their original brass hardware, and beautiful and unusual rose colored quartz marble pieces. Behind the two columns is a full-length mirror in the center flanked by two shapely beveled glass mirrors. It’s in its original medium amber finish, and dates from the 1920s. The overall size is 53 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 67 inches tall. The chair space is 19.5 inches wide, and 15 inches deep. It is Eastlake style with line carvings and a beautiful crest crown atop a large rectangular mirror. There are lamp shelves flanking the mirror with scrolling corbels for supports. The base has 4 spacious drawers and is topped with marble. The marble drawer tops have a ¼ bevel edge while the center piece has a straight edge. The center piece does have some nicks ... moreand chips in the top and bottom edge but there are no cracks. Breaks or fractures that I can see in any of the marble pieces. The drawers have brass and wood drop pulls. The dresser sits on casters. This is a beautiful example of Eastlake style craftsmanship. The mirror is in excellent condition with no breaks, chips or cracks.I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. Marble Top Victorian Antique Bedroom Dresser with Mirror and decorative top
This is an antique dresser with a beveled marble top(marble recently replaced) and candle-stands flanking the large mirror in the middle. The greatest thing about this piece is the decorative top that attaches via pegs to the top of the mirror(see pics) It has rolling wheels on the bottom. So it's easy to move around. The top can be removed from the bottom via screws on the back of the mirror. All in all. I'd say it's in good condition, but has been stored and of course needs a good cleaning.
