The crest is a perfect arch, sharply angled at each corner to form the squared back- this balance of tight lines with soft flowing form was a difficult harmony to achieve, conforming to the clean form important to Neoclassical designs while still being warm and inviting. This piece captures it perfectly, the arched crest mirrored in the projecting bowed apron and the soft cyma-curve of the arms and arm supports. These details giving shape and depth to an otherwise austere adherence to the square. For sale is a Louis XVI portico clock set. The maker is Marti and it recieved the Medal of Honor in 1900. The base material is white polished marble with streaks of dark grey and amber. The clock and urns are decorated with ormolu. The clock face is porcelain with Arabic numerals and a delicate hand painted floral pattern around the numerals. The hands are ornate French hands. The urns are teardrop shaped on a round pedestal. The movement is an 8 day movement(wind it once a week) The clock rings on a sweet French bell on the hour and half hour. The clock has been cleaned. Oiled, and serviced and is in running condition. There are two minor condition issues on the back side of the clock. The brass at the base of the center column is partially cracked. A very nice antique. Circa 1920s- 1930's, carved walnut front and legs Louis XVI style petite chest of drawers. The sides are walnut stained maple, the secondary woods maple. All drawers contain their locks, brass escutcheons, and ring pulls. The left side panel has a few shrinkage cracks. Original finish. It measures 39-2/2" tall by 31" wide by 16" deep. The marble top has been broken into four pieces and neatly glued back.

A fine antique. Circa 1920, solid mahogany and rosewood veneers Louis XVI classical sepentine dresser with composite plum and pink marble top. The drawers are inlaid in fine bandings and mother of pearl dots, with rosette and wreath brass pulls. The doors and sides are in another fine inlay banding. The case is on fluted and partial gilted legs. The center bow doors open to pull forward gliding mahogany drawers, the side doors to compartment with a stationary shelf. Dresser measures 37-1/2" tall by 51-1/2" wide by 24" deep at center. Excellent condition: without chips or cracks(minor chip to edge of left center door) original finish, veneers and inlays complete. The marble slab is without damage, no ring spots.

Offered is Antique French Louis XVI Commode Chest that has a Bombay Shape made of Beautiful Inlaid Fruitwood with fabulous Bronze and Ormolu decoration. The Chest has beautiful bronze legs and the ormolu decorating the bottom edge is intact across the bottom edge and the sides. The bronze decoration on each side is unique-one lady features a hat-the other has her coiled in a bun. This piece is in the original condition-there are some stress cracks on the sides. The green marble top is inset and there are no cracks or chips to it. It is 48 inches wide across the back and 20 inches deep and 37 1/2 inches tall.
