SPINDLE ASSORTED WOOD LEGS, 23-28 inches long, three finishes, LOT of 8, VINTAGE
LOT of 8 vintage spindles. Lengths from 23 inches to 28 inches long. Three are from probably 1900 tables& weathered. Three are unused vintage made and unfinished and appear to never have been installed, and two are stained brown tone, probably about 1940, and these appear to have been used on a table possibly, but in very good condition. Majority of the spindles were probably hand made with machine use only for shaping, if that. Three vintage weathered 1900 legs are 28 inches each in lenght and the bases run 2 1/4 inch to 2 3/4 inch across. Three unfinished unused vintage spindles are 23 inches long with 2 1/4 inch bases each. Two brown tone spindles are 25 inches long each and have 2 3/8 inch bases. The weathered 1900 legs have some wear at the tops- please review photos. The two brown tone spindles have dowel holes on one or two sides ... moreof each- again review the photos. Unfortunately the donor instrument for this piece was too far gone to be save in its entirety so we have claimed what we can and are offering those pieces up for sale. This piece is in very good conditions you can see in the photos. We believe that this is made from Mahogany. This piece was originally part of the music rest. Large End Table Solid Wood Salvage Center Spindle and Legs possible Craft Use
Let me start by stating that there is nothing particularly special about this piece of table salvage. It is not antique but possibly from the 70s or 80s judging from the top that was removed. It is solid and sturdy but not very heavy. Assembled it is nearly 25" tall the spindle itself is about 22-1/2" The girth is shown in the photos. The three side legs are about 10-1/2" long. There is some wear like scratches and scuffs. Nothing drastic. Of course you could repaint or stain to whatever color you wanted. I am envisioning some kind of antiquing or crafting.
