This ca. 1860-1875 solid walnut hand carved pediment in the rococo revival manner measures43 1/2" wide x 23" tall x 2" deep with the pierced and fruit carved removable section measuring app. 25" x 8 1/2" tall. The piece is in fairly well preserved condition with dry old refinished surface and some sratches. Gouges and scrapes from a recent move. There is a glued breaks in the openwork on one end, but no apparent loss. It most likely graced a stately bedstead or armoire and has a great rich look. Old topper probably off of a bed but would make a nice wall or door pediment. Painted with an old coat of light green paint over walnut wood. The crest is very deeply carved with the curved top part protruding out about 3 1/2" from the face. Has no damage except a chip which is in the back so really a non issue. They are definitely shelves, possibly candle sconces to light up the piece of furniture being used or for playing the organ. Each one has one hole that goes straight through the arm which would be to secure to the piece of furniture, each has two holes in the back for pegs and the pegs are still there, I think they are walnut, Victorian style but uncertain of the actual date. The pieces are mitered on the ends and 4 are 18 inches long and 1 is 9 inches long. They are measured at the long end of the miter. Each piece is ½ inch wide at the base and 5/16 inches at the high side. 3 of the long pieces have a cut off cut nail in the wood and all the pieces has a residue of vintage glue on the back. There is little if any residue of any finish and all the pieces are free of any breaks or cracks. This is an estate find and from a nonsmoking home. Antique carved dark walnut pediment/arch/crest salvaged from a Victorian era bed frame. A carved stylized floral motif with a single flower top center. The back still has a little fabric covered pad affixed with old fabric binding tape and small nails. This would prevent the frame from"bumping" against the wall. The number 13 is engraved on the back. Lovely old salvaged piece with a wonderful aged finish. Looks great hung over a window. Door, wall or shelf. In very nice overall. Very beautiful solid Walnut top of 1884 Style 7 Packard Orchestral parlor organ- genuine antique with very dark original patina and East Lake style. you can barely make out some of the gold leaf stenciling with ornate designs but enough they could be retraced or restored. the very front has"Packard Orchestral" on it. the two end pieces are not attached but I have them standing where they would be reattached for picture purposes.
