These are very heavy duty.carrying an eight foot work top when found. They have a notch built in to hold a stretcher/ reinforcing board. The top piece has a built in 1.5" step up from front to back. As well as a brace for a backsplash. There are no maker's or foundry marks that I found. The rust is very light and much of it is'flash' rust caused by all the rain and moisture in the last weeks. No cracks were found. One small chip on one foot can be seen in photo 11. There is some reddish paint on the front of one leg. The height from the floor to the lower brace is 9" To the top of the front section is 30.5" to the top of the rear section is 31" to the top of ... morethe backsplash brace is 37" On the top, the front/lower section is 13.5" deep, and the rear/upper section is 15.5" deep. 10' Long Industrial style table with cast iron legs and antique carpenters bench
Just got done with this piece. The top is very old. It came out of a carpenters shop in Lancaster county Pa, it has alot of wear marks, saw marks, screw holes etc on it. I stained and glazed it to complement the legs, and added some huge bolts to the top to give it some(more) visual interest. The legs are gorgeous. They were in a patternmakers shop that had been in business since the 1920's. And held up workbenches there. The top is 10' long. 32" wide, and 32.5" tall. Can easily be raised taller by adding stretchers on top of the legs if you wanted it at island height, say. More pics can be found at theretrofactory.com. Offering a set of vintage heavy duty steel workbench/ work bench/ machine stand/ table legs. They are constructed with steel'C' channel. Making them strong as well as lending to the adjustable aspect. The legs are held in position by 2 machine screws threaded into a sliding block inside the'C' channel. Each leg adjusts independently of the other in each set. This allows for differential height adjustment to allow for sloped or uneven floor. Height can be adjusted from 34" to 48" These are in solid condition, but have layers of paint loss, surface rust, and dirt. They will need wire brushed and/ or cleaned OR wipe off and clear coat to preserve the rust and flaking paint. Outside measurement of the legs front to back is 18" The whole set weighs 26 pounds before packing.
