Vintage Antique Set of 4 Cast Iron Bathtub Ball Claw Feet 6 1/2" Wide
This auction is for an Antique Set of 6 Cast Iron Bathtub Ball and Claw Feet. Two are marked with the number 29 and two are marked L. The measure 6 1/2" across, the bracket sticks out about 2 1/2" by 1 1/2" the slot opening is 1 3/4" long by 1/2" wide. They stand about 8" tall. They seem to be in very good condition, minimal paint loss, don't know if the paint is original or not. The set of four feet weigh almost 22 pounds. Measuring 6" in diameter, 2 1/4" width, and an overall height of 6 1/2" These wheels have a wonderful patina, with one of the wheel brackets containing some corrosion which has caused a small opening in the cast( see photo 1, the middle wheel) other than that, they are in great shape. All three do still contain some scaling, but I will leave that up to the buyer to continue the restoration. All three wheels do move freely, but could still use some lubrication to improve their performance. The lower plate/bracket measures 8" long and 3 1/4" wide. Containing 2 holes for mounting. These caster wheels once came from a 3 wheel industrial cart from an old mill in New Bedford, MA. Hamilton No. 6 vintage cast iron casters set of 4 Factory Cart Wheels
Early Hamilton no. 6 double wheel cast iron caster set of 4 vintage wheels with raised lettering. Used in early American industrial settings and factory buildings beginning in the late 1800's to early 1900's. These are the perfect size for coffee tables. And other furniture. They roll well on wood floors without damage to the floor. I have a number of matching sets available. Wheels are oiled. Working properly, and ready for use. The second photo shows better what they look like after being cleaned with a wire wheel, if that look is desired. Their height is 2-1/2" overall. And the base footprint is 3" x 1-3/4" style#58.
