4 vintage Ball Bearing BASSICK CASTERS - CHROME w/ ROUND WHEELS
This is a fabulous set of four vintage BASSICK chrome casters in great condition. They feature a streamlined design with ball bearing post inserts. Dome-style metal-chrome wheel covers, and black round wheels. These casters swivel freely 360 degrees. The wheels have relief embossed identifiers which read, BASSICK. The black wheels are made of a very hard rubber. Or maybe plastic composite material. The wheels measure approximately 1 ½ inches in diameter. The insert posts are about 1 3/8 inches long. We do not know the load capacity. All four casters are in great used condition. The chrome finish is fantastic with barely a sign of rust just some mild scratching(see photos) The black wheels are good with some signs of wear along the centers(wear area) The inserts post are good. In the photos it looks like there is rust where the post meets ... morethe caster covers. It was actually dried grease and dirt. The ball bearing movement is smooth; however they might need a little extra grease to ensure longer life. We’ve seen similar casters on a number of vintage. The black ball itself measures 1 3/4 inch diameter. They measure 3 inches tall to the top of the screw when standing and the chrome part is 2 inches wide over the ball. 4 Vintage Brass Ball Style Chair Casters- Plastic Round Furniture Wheels. Ball bearing type. These were salvaged from some older estate furniture. They could use some cleaning up. I have not really tried to clean them. I have to leave that up to the new owner. These have a bit of surface rust here and there that may or may not come/polish off. See pics)They still work. They have a metal spike under the plastic covering piece that fits up into the piece of furniture. One of the plastic coverings has a little bit of wear near the top where you put it into the piece of furniture. But it still will work.See Pics) These are still in good working condition. These measure approx. 2" diameter across the black round ball portion.they are approx. 4" tall in total from ball bottom to top spike that goes into the furniture.the spike is a hair over 1/4" on the metal top/tip of spike.with the plastic covering over the metal spike it is approx. 1/2" that would go into the furniture.I think you can take the plastic coverings off.it is just a bit hard to.Hope this helps.
