Study the photos… they seem to say it all. These parts were covered with dirt. Dust, rust and whatever else may settle in an old barn. This is what we refer to in the trade as patina. It is a single quarter sawn oak board(not veneer or laminated) measuring 24 x 13 5/8 x 3/4 inches. It is in excellent condition with just a slight wobble when laid flat. The surface is very smooth. One side is beautifully finished with a terrific as found patina. The board was cleaned but not waxed or re-varnished. The reverse side is unfinished but the grain in the wood is clearly visible. Up for auction is a what I believe is a Weis Barrister Bookcase desk organizer. This organizer is 33"10/16" long x 13.5" tall and 11" deep. Desk organizer is in fantastic shape except for a sliver of wood missing from the back bottom(pictured) A piece of period molding is easily added to the back on both sides to hide the defect. Easy to make a campaign desk or wall desk out of this beautiful piece with some front legs(screw desk to wall. So all you need are two from legs) or add a pair of cast iron and or Oak corbels to support the desk. In any case this will be a beautiful desk when you complete. Antique 1888 Oak Chair Frame Base Tilts/Swivels/Rolls/Height Adjusts Office/Desk
Patent dates of 1887 and 1888. 2 of the rollers don't exactly match. they are the same diameter but not quite as wide. They all swivel and rolls good but you'll want to oil them a little before you reinsert them into the frame. Working height of about 15" to 20" before it starts to get a little wobbly. Base is 19 1/2" across the closest points-26 3/4" diameter. The part that you bolt your chair to is 17 1/2" long by 8" wide. Bolt holes are 16 1/16" x 6 3/4" center to center. You can bolt pretty much any chair you want to to it. If yours have legs you can remove them. You'll want a fairly thick bottom chair and if yours is thin you'll want to reinforce it with a thicker piece of wood then screw it fast to this frame. Several minor drying cracks that go nowhere. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN OAK PANEL DESK TOP w/ CARVED SKIRT GREAT PROJECT PIECE
This is an oak panel with carved skirt that was salvaged from a large Victorian era roll top desk. It has a nicely carved skirt or trim around the perimeter. It measures 47 1/4" wide x 24 3/4" deep on the outside ends and is 22 1/4" in the center. From the back side it appears to have a split or crack but there is no sign of it extending to the front. Overall it is in good condition. Fed Ex shipping to the lower 48 states would be 39.80 including insurance. Antique Dovetailed Oak Writing Desk Pull Out Pullout 27" x 13.25"
This pull out writing surface measures 27" long x 13.25" wide x.75" thick. The notched finger cut out side goes on the bottom. As the pictures show. VTG Cubby Shelf Insert Secretary Desk, Oak Drawer, Homemade Knob from Old Bottle
This came in an antique secretary that I purchased at auction. I would rather have the open space so I am listing this. It looks handmade but I'm not sure. It's made of lightweight wood and has an tiger oak facing on the drawer. The drawer has an old bottle lid for its knob. I can't read what brand the lid is. As the screw hole goes right through the name. It looks to start with an F and end with an H. There is some splitting at a couple of the nails. Staining, pencil marks, and various other small imperfections. It has some movement when wiggled but all pieces hold securely. The small drawer is sturdy; one nail hold it in the back and there is some movement there, but again, the bottom is held securely in its tracks. The knob has a bit of paint loss but still has all the character of a unique embellishment. The oak front is free ... morefrom any damage. The drawer slides in and out easily. All components are free of varnish. There is old stain in the grain of the drawer front but no varnish. The secretary that this came in was somebody's unfinished refinishing project, partially stripped already. It is 14 5/8" tall. It is 10 3/8" wide. It is 6.5" deep without the drawer.
