joe calcite SET of 4 MID CENTURY HEAVY DUTY HAIRPIN LEGS This offering is for a set of 28" tall hairpin legs made of heavy 1/2" thick metal rod. There is a small metal'button' foot welded on the end of each leg. These legs are made differently than is typical. Which can be seen in the photos. This attachment system seems to be stronger/ sturdier. Also, it allows for the legs to be spread or squeezed slightly when attached to get a thinner or wider appearance. These have all been wire brushed. Rust primered, and sprayed with one coat of black enamel. The result is a nice clean finish. However, i may well have missed a few spots, and there will likely be dings from shipping, so anticipate a second coat of black. We found this at an local estate sale and the owner said that her father had made this table. The coffee table has the hard to find hairpin metal legs. The top is made with a heavy.thick piece of wood that has been covered with a blonde champagne/wheat color formica. There is some normal nicks and slight oxidation on the metal legs.but the legs are in great shape for their age and use. The formica table top also has scratches and chips to the surface top. This is 4 hairpin legs off a piece of mid century furniture. They have holes at the top for screws. These have been painted black at some point. And HAVE PAINT CHIPS. They were originally gold and you can see that so these will need to be repainted. These are really sturdy. I don't know if there was another piece at the top since these are 13" Maybe a block of wood they were screwed into or another metal piece to make the usual 16" leg. They also look like they will tilt out some when screwed in because of the angle of the top part. SOLD AS IS! Wonderful estate find-set of 4 mid century modern chair/table legs. Each measures 12 inches and has a brass/gold finish. Not sure what type of metal they are made of but they are weighty and solid-assuming they are steel. See all pics-there is expected wear of the golden finish but this can be painted over easily or left as is. I see no pits. Dents, cracks, rust or other obvious issues-really a solid set that would make any piece of furniture look great. The bases have solid welding of the legs(pics 4 and 10) Each base has 4 screw holes-2 holes at the"V" and another hole on each side for added stability when mounting to a table or chair. The triangle top plates are 8.25” on the long side, and 4.25” high. The feet are swivel style, so the bottom will be flat even if the leg isn’t perfectly straight. 1 set of 4-4" furniture legs NOS Black paint on metal Hairpin w/ plastic pads
The bag with the screws in it has not been opened. So I am pretty sure these legs have not been used. They have some paint-flaking issues, shown in the pictures, but the leg parts still seem okay. The little plastic pads are marked Emco, so I am assuming they made the metal legs also, but I could be wrong about that. Please zoom the pictures to make your own determination about item condition. These had been sitting in the box for a while, in a wood working room in a basement. Just two of them were uncovered. I checked the two that still had paper wrapped around them and the hairpin parts of the legs looked fine. Those are in the later pictures.
