Antique Medical Hospital Desk Lamp Marble Base w/ Instrument Tray Restored Rare Hello Everyone. This is a Rare Antique Medical Desk Lamp. Interesting design with a white marble base and attached instrument tray. This piece is completely restored. When I found this lamp it was in terrible condition. The last picture is of the lamp as found. I cleaned the base and the tray. Replaced the porcelain socket with an antique equivalent, replaced the arm, rewired the lamp with period style black twisted modern reproduction lamp cord and added the nice edison style filament bulb which will be included. The base. Tray, socket housing and plug are original. The arm. Cord and bulb are all that's new on this unusual piece. Oh. And I added some rubber feet to protect your desk from the marble. Vintage Cast Iron Floor Lamp Base; Painted Green, Restore or Repurpose '20s-'30s
This floor lamp base is close to a century old and made for a large floor lamp. It is cast iron. Painted green, 10" wide, has four feet and in the middle is 2-3/4" high. The three roughly oval holes in the top, I understand, were for inserts of marble or glass decorative pieces. The 5" top tier would make this a great candidate for repurposing as a stand to display a piece of statuary or a favorite plant. Overall. The condition is excellent. There is no damage and very little surface rust mostly along the edges and on the bottom. There are, of course, cosmetic issues which are only to be expected on a piece of this age being offered for restoration. There is also a lot of cleaning needed. I wiped off the loose dirt but didn't go further in the event the new owner wished to preserve the green paint. This is an estate piece ... morebeing sold as is.
