Then it was turned into a cushion with black velveteen, including ties at each corner and those ties are used to secure it to the footstool. e In doing the research on this item. I came across a needlepoint canvas with this design which still had the original label, and it was a Dritz product, probably from the 60's or 70's. Wouldn't this be a fun piece to add to your home? Imagine if you have children who need a time out. You could make them sit on the bull seat. Or maybe someone older than a child, if you know what I mean. Wink wink. This measures approx. 18" x 12" x 14" and shows some wear and tear. But is in generally very good condition. There is a spot on one leg, as visible in the pictures, where some wood has slivered off. It is highly leaded and pings when struck- so flint glass. We think that it dates to about 1850-1860's, but it shows no wear and is in mint condition. Looks somewhat like a Boston and Sandwich or Pittsburgh piece. It is possible that this could be a contemporary Baccarat item, but we have not found any reference for it. 1965 "SILVER ARTISTRY" pattern 3 Paw FOOT COVERED SERVING BOWL -by ONEIDA- Rare
Offering vintage silverplated large footed covered serving bowl made by Oneida Silversmiths in 1956.This is"Silver artistry" pattern. The company has been made silver flatware in this pattern too. It is in excellent- close to mint condition- see pictures. The bowl has 3 paw feet with the pattern of Silver Artistry. And the gorgeous finial of the lid has the pattern. The top of the lid has been ingraved with scrolls, fern and small flowers The edges of the bowl has been designed with chain of small flowers and long leaves decoration- see pictures. One picture is depicting the Silver Artistry patten from the book of american silver flatware and the same design of the bowl. It has a 6 lobed shape, and is entirely covered with very old tapestry fabric that has the look of needlepoint but isn't like the newer needle point I have seen. There are porcelain castors on the bottom, appear to be original to the piece. It shows a lot of wear, more on the top than the sides. The green trim around the bottom is tacked in place and has deteriorated in places.The wood on the bottom has a dark patina. A very interesting old piece. Early Beaded Upohlstered Covered Victorian Foot Stool
This is a really old beaded Victorian foot stool. I have no idea who could have/ would have made it. But there is just a ton of work in it. Unfortunately due to age and use, there is plenty of wear as pics show. But yet still beautiful in its own way. I have had many old foot stools in the past but never one I can remember with the beads. When I first looked at it, I thought that it came from a covered wagon as a foot rest from days gone bye. It could also be mounted to the floor, It could still be in a good position to be a boot scraper that way. Vintage cloth covered 20 foot extension cord Hubbell 2-prong ... works
Up for your consideration is a vintage 20 foot long black and cream cloth covered extension cord with Hubbell stamped on the large female plug end. This was"tested" by using it to plug in a lamp for about 5 minutes and there were no hot spots along the cord or smoke. The cord has areas where it feels stiff under the cloth- which I guess is from age plus being coiled up in the same position for many years. There are some minor scuffs and wear to the plugs(which may be Bakelite- they kind of smell like they are) more on the 2 prong male plug end than the other end. There is a short area- about 1" long- where there are loops of fabric that have pulled away from the woven cover. there is no area where the cords inside are exposed. this could have happened when the cloth was woven or if the cord rubbed against something rough enough ... moreto catch on the fabric(the last few photographs show this area in close-up) This would be a great cord to pair with your old vintage toaster. Steam iron, or other vintage appliance just to complete the look. It is covered in a piece of Gothic Revival cut velvet/ flock material fabric worked with an intricate Gothic design of flowering plants and a small rowing boat occupied by a chained dog being attacked by a large eagle and surrounded by ducks in the water. This rare design has similarities to the designs of A.W.N. Pugin and it has gimp braided edges held with patinated old brass stud pins. Antique Alfred Meakin Kent England 11" Tureen Covered Dish Scalloped Foot Blue
This covered tureen made by Alfred Meakin came from an auction in Vermont. The bottom is marked Alfred Meakin England Kent. It dates to 1891. There is crackling in the glaze. It measures 11" long. 7" wide, 5 1/2" high with the lid on to the top of the handle, and 3 3/8" high without the lid. It has a deep blue flower design with a scalloped rim. It is in good condition, no chips or cracks. There is some discoloration and wear on the handle and on the rim of the lid, see the 11th picture.
