Victorian Era Solid Quartersawn Oak Hanging Coat /Hat Rack
Up for bid is a very nice Victorian era hanging Hat rack/Coat rack/Halltree. Frame is in excellent condition. Just need new/used halltee hooks. Frame is solid tiger oak and is 42.25" long x 26" tall(center of radius) x 1.5" thick. Inside glass/mirror/panel measurement is 24.25" long x 22.25" tall. Set of 4 Antique Art Nouveau cast iron coat hooks Dated 1905 hall tree hat
This is a matched set of 4 antique cast iron coat hooks from the early 1900s. They are in good original condition and have a copper finish. There is some variation in patina. The back of each hook is marked"Pat. Apr 4. 1905" and also"47" Each hook is about 7- 1/4" wide. 5- 1/8" high and stands out about 3- 1/4" from the mounting surface. The rods are 1/4" in diameter and have 20 threads per inch(a common, standard size) The hooks can be mounted on a board that is 3/4" thick. If you want to mount them on a thicker board, you can replace the threaded rods with longer rods, OR countersink the nuts. This is a nice set with good casting detail and a mellow finish. Genuine. 1800s, architectural panel. Fantastic rich patina. Center recessed panel with beveled edges above and below. Eastlake spoon carved cattails in the middle. Finished bottom beveled edge. This Victorian antique is just dying for a little imagination! It measures 39 5/8 inches by 11 5/8 inches. Unknown wood type. Slight age cracking but good overall condition. This is part of an antique school desk chair that has been converted to a wall mount hat or coat rack. The cast iron double hook is new but the rest is all original. The two bottom hooks or brackets have a slot in the center that I thought you may be able to add a narrow glass or wood shelf. You could also add some hangars for coats. You may want to add a stringer wire or hangar to the back depending on the weight you think it would need to hold. It measures aprox. 13 3/4" wide x 14 3/4" high x 8 3/4" deep.
