Measures 16½" long. 7" wide by 11½" high(extended) The bolt pattern for mounting to chair seat measures 6½" by 15½" Very heavy and is in good working condition… just needs a good cleaning and paint. Study the photos… they seem to say it all. These parts were covered with dirt. Dust, rust and whatever else may settle in an old barn. This is what we refer to in the trade as patina. I have wiped off most of the surface grime but the rest of the patina is all yours(we will call it part of the restoration process) All of the photos are straight out of the camera with no enhancements. Antique 9" Cast Iron Pedestal Table Base w/ Original Wood School Desk Chair
Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is a wonderful antique cast iron pedestal school desk seat or chair– in a smaller size than usual. This is the smallest chair we have ever come across. And the cast iron pedestal base is perfectly level and flat- no tilt at all. I have taken pictures with the seat still attached with the 4 screws to the pedestal base and I also took pictures after we removed the wooden seat. We are going to ship the chair with the seat NOT ATTACHED. We are including the original mounting screws so attaching the base to the seat again will be easy– only a flat tip ... morescrewdriver needed. The chair stands 21 ½” tall when the seat is attached. The wooden chair by itself is 13 ¼” tall at the back and the seat is 10 ½” x 11” x 1 ¼” The wood is in very good condition with minor signs of wear and scuff marks and scratches on the top surfaces. The bottom of the seat has a few cracks in the wood and a very old small chunk of wood that came out– all if which has occurred over the years– please look at the pictures to get a better idea of these minor flaws. The cast iron pedestal base(by itself) weighs 5lbs. Stands 9” tall, measures 7 3/8” across the round bottom, 8 ¼” across the top, and the center post is about 2 ¼” wide. Both the top and bottom surfaces have 4 holes for mounting screws. The pedestal base has the original black paint, most of which still in place. There is one minor flaw on this piece– a small hole in the cast iron that measures ¼” x 3/8” this hold occurred during the manufacturing process and in no way at effects the structural integrity or strength of the base. Antique 1888 Oak Chair Frame Base Tilts/Swivels/Rolls/Height Adjusts Office/Desk
Patent dates of 1887 and 1888. 2 of the rollers don't exactly match. they are the same diameter but not quite as wide. They all swivel and rolls good but you'll want to oil them a little before you reinsert them into the frame. Working height of about 15" to 20" before it starts to get a little wobbly. Base is 19 1/2" across the closest points-26 3/4" diameter. The part that you bolt your chair to is 17 1/2" long by 8" wide. Bolt holes are 16 1/16" x 6 3/4" center to center. You can bolt pretty much any chair you want to to it. If yours have legs you can remove them. You'll want a fairly thick bottom chair and if yours is thin you'll want to reinforce it with a thicker piece of wood then screw it fast to this frame. Several minor drying cracks that go nowhere. Set of 4 Vintage 1 1/8" Brass over Iron Casters Industrial Chair Desk Furniture
DESCIPTION FOLLOWS PHOTOS Offered here is a set of 4. Vintage brass over cast iron, heavy metal casters suitable for a variety of industrial, office and home furniture. Each wheel measures 1 1/8" in diameter. These are the short stem variety. One of the stems is flattened a little which created an edge on the end that has kept the original washer on, see photos. Otherwise they are in good, working condition and roll easily. There is some wear to the finish and minor rust. I have several other groups of antique and vintage hardware being offered in other auctions. I'm happy to discount the shipping on multiple purchases. If you win more than one auction, please wait for the revised invoice to pay to reflect the shipping discount as it is based on the combined weight. I take all returns. Vintage Steel Casters Industrial Chair Desk Furniture 14 restoration replace
There are two sets of 4 and 6 other casters. Some are solid steel and others molded. Some have ball berring swivels and some not. Please view pictures. These have been in my shop drawer sind the 1960s. I have many more but thesae are the lod ones. I need to downsize before we move.
