1880s Architectural Salvage Wood& Cast Iron Pump Organ Pedals Red& Black Carpt Description Up for sale is this estate rescued pair of Pedals from an antique Beckwith Pump Organ! These pedals have cast iron curved toe catches and heel rests. There are oak moldings on each side with a solid wood piece as the base. The top of each is fitted with a patterned carpet in Red and Black. Each pedal measures 10 1/4" not including the curve in the toe end) x 7" x 1" thick. The bottoms of each have the holes from the original hinges along with a cutout that was for the rod that attached to the bellows. We have left the rod pin in place. The cast iron toe piece is held in place with 3 screws in each end. The heel pieces are nailed in place as you can see in the photos. This is the smallest chair we have ever come across. And the cast iron pedestal base is perfectly level and flat- no tilt at all. I have taken pictures with the seat still attached with the 4 screws to the pedestal base and I also took pictures after we removed the wooden seat. We are going to ship the chair with the seat NOT ATTACHED. We are including the original mounting screws so attaching the base to the seat again will be easy– only a flat tip ... morescrewdriver needed. The chair stands 21 ½” tall when the seat is attached. The wooden chair by itself is 13 ¼” tall at the back and the seat is 10 ½” x 11” x 1 ¼” The wood is in very good condition with minor signs of wear and scuff marks and scratches on the top surfaces. The bottom of the seat has a few cracks in the wood and a very old small chunk of wood that came out– all if which has occurred over the years– please look at the pictures to get a better idea of these minor flaws. The cast iron pedestal base(by itself) weighs 5lbs. Stands 9” tall, measures 7 3/8” across the round bottom, 8 ¼” across the top, and the center post is about 2 ¼” wide. Both the top and bottom surfaces have 4 holes for mounting screws. The pedestal base has the original black paint, most of which still in place. There is one minor flaw on this piece– a small hole in the cast iron that measures ¼” x 3/8” this hold occurred during the manufacturing process and in no way at effects the structural integrity or strength of the base. The company name, PHOENIX, is still showing off its gold gilt paint. The top has had the old finish scraped away to reveal the aged color and grain without destroying the patina. Rather than patching the large hole where the machine would have been mounted, its been enlarged to serve as a catchment'trough' at the back of the table, much like the antique woodworkers' benches. The revised/ revived top was then coated with several layers of polyurethane. An excellent addition to an entry hall, behind a sofa, hallway, under a large window, etc. Note that the top mounts on the legs so as to protrude along one long side, allowing stools and leg space if desired. Some are matching. Some are not. All wheels move freely. All are used but have no big chips. Cracks, or breaks to the wood wheels. They are all in very good. Antique condition. THREE LARGE ANTIQUE 1800'S CAST IRON AND WOOD CASTER WHEELS
For sale are 3 very large antique caster wheels from the 1800's. The wheels are all in good shape with normal wear and are all usable. The wheels are about 3 and 1/2 inches wide and are 1 and 1/8 of an inch thick. From the top of the metal piece to the bottom of the wheel it measures about 8 and 1/2 inches. The piece that goes into the hole measures 3 and 1/2 inches. I don't know if these are for furniture or are industrial. I would think that being as big as they are that it would be industrial. These are so amazing. They came from a very old wood/coal stove. They are cast iron but they are also porcelain enameled I believe. I have no idea how they did this but the look is wood grain. Industrial Antique Metal or Wood Lathe Headstock. Early Cast Iron Hook Legs
Up for sale is this beautiful part that I assume is a headstock for a metal lathe. It has two cast iron legs that are hooked and have the spinning arm lock inside with two cast iron pieces. The distance between the legs can be adjusted using the steel cross bar. I don't know what this was originally used for but it could be used as a part or for repurposing. The feet look like the whole thing was meant to be wall mounted and come off of the wall about 8" The legs are beautiful alone and could be used as an industrial rack. Interested? Here is a set of Delta Milwaukee cast iron legs from a 1460 lathe. Cat. no. 945. In good condition, I see no cracks, breaks, repairs, no holes drilled. They have some rust around the feet, could use a good cleaning and painting. They are About 30" tall The base is 19 5/8" wide. The center to center of bottom holes is 17 1/2" The Top is about 8 3/4" wide and 5" deep. Looking at the top as a"U" the top holes are 6" center to center-the bottom 5 1/4" I will build a box.
