There are corbels and nicely carved moldings. It measures 28.25 wide. 14.5 inches tall and is 5.75 inches thick at the top molding. Overall it is in very good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. It needs a finish sanding. Please see the pictures carefully. Ref: CN Shipping. This ca. 1860-1875 solid walnut hand carved pediment in the rococo revival manner measures43 1/2" wide x 23" tall x 2" deep with the pierced and fruit carved removable section measuring app. 25" x 8 1/2" tall. The piece is in fairly well preserved condition with dry old refinished surface and some sratches. Gouges and scrapes from a recent move. There is a glued breaks in the openwork on one end, but no apparent loss. It most likely graced a stately bedstead or armoire and has a great rich look. This is a heavy piece, weighs almost 10 lbs. before packing. The panel edges are beveled to slip on adjoining panel(tounge& grove) and the beveled tounge has splits that can be glued or removed based on your intended usage. Antique ORNATE Carved BURLED Wood VICTORIAN PEDIMENT Secretary Door Hall Tree
Up for auction is this fabulous antique Victorian carved wood arched pediment being offered"as is as found" It is in wonderful condition, though some of the burled veneer is lifting and there is one spot on the top edge of the moulding where it meets the center piece that is chipped(as seen in photo 7) It is very ornately carved with exquisite details. The 2 drop turned finials on either side of the center medallion are intact. Not sure of the wood, it is thick and solid somewhat speckled with darker spots. Exhibits superb craftsmanship. Beautifully curved multi-layer moulding. The underneath has one dowel on the bottom and 2 holes on the other side where it sat on the original piece of furniture which is long gone. This would be wonderful on a secretary, hall tree or even above a doorway. There are different layers giving it greath ... moredepth and interest. Measures along the bottom edge underneath 33 3/8 inches long, 1 inch thick and with the moulding at the sides about 2 1/2 inches thick; it is 16 1/4 inches in total height, the first lower arch is 2 5/8 inches thick, the total depth it would stick out if against a wall would be 5 5/8 inches. And although there are a few missing pieces, there do seem to be enough to create a nice gallery around the top of a bureau, buffet, dresser, and/or etc. The pieces are approximately 1/2" in thickness by an overall length for the longest center piece of about 21" On some pieces there is carving on both sides. My guess is the carver was practicing or was doing"do overs" in order to get the best look that they wanted to achieve before finishing the piece. The top center carving piece does have a chip or missing piece of wood, though it does not take away from the overall glamour of the pieces. Antique carved Oak Pediment Header Back Splash Crown Architectural Salvage
This piece came off a dresser or cabinet. I can't remember which. There is a groove across the back where something fit onto it and there are screw holes as well. It was refinished at some point with what looks like an oil based clear finish under which I see what looks like swirl marks from an orbital sander. They're not deep. So the whole front could be sanded and re-finished which is what I would do if I had a good place for this in my house. It measures: 19.5" long x 2.25" tall(in the center) 3.5" on the ends x 7/8" thick(not counting the medallions) It's 1" thick with the medallions. 1880s 43" Architectural Salvage Carved Oak Wood Pediment Molding from Pump Organ Description Up for sale is this estate rescued carved oak piece from an antique Beckwith Pump Organ! This very long piece measures 43 1/2" long x 5" It was the front piece of the organ just above the keyboard cover. It has a lock that we have left in which takes a triangular shaped key. The key was never recovered. As you can see from the close-ups the cuts go all of the way through the wood and appear to be hand carved as seen in their inconsistencies. Very cool! Each of the carved areas measure 10" x 3 1/4" This piece has 3 pins in the top that were used to hold it in place. There are also 2 pieces glued onto the ends of the back which had pins that slid into the sides of the organ. There are felt pieces on either end that prevented ... morethe piece from rattling when it was installed and the organ was being played! The carved openings are backed with a red cloth that looks to be original. You can see from the photos that the cloth has some rips in it. We found that it is quite fragile as we caused one of those rips when we were cleaning this great old piece. Oops. This piece consists of 4 pieces of wood. The long front piece with the carvings. A piece attached to the bottom which measures about 1 3/8" allowing this piece to stand on its own and the 2 pieces on the back which the attaching pins. The back piece is 1/4" thick and the base piece is 1/2" thick. The manufacture date on the organ had faded but the latest patent dates listed on the label were from the 1880s. Eastlake Spoon Carved Victorian Pediment Fretwork Tiger Oak Panel
Large. Salvaged panel with spoon carved Eastlake details, 2 medallions, pierced fretwork with clovers, 4 columns. Measures 13.5 inches tall in the front and 13.25 inches in back for one long side angles back slightly. The piece measures 45.5 inches long. Has a one inch ledge. Beautiful dark tiger oak. There are two holes on the ends(one each end) and one minor chip on the very end(see photo) On the back there are scratches like someone scratch the wood when taking something off- perhaps something that was at one time behind the open fretwork. There is also a red stain- perhaps the remnants of old glue. On one of the smaller panels, there are couple of small chips on the front(see photo) Other than this, the fretwork is in great shape. Vintage Wood Pediment with Carved Head Bishop Cardinal Victorian Topper Header
This pediment is 36 1/4" long and about 8 1/4" tall. And features a wood carved head. I am not sure of the wood(I think walnut but could be wrong) for the pediment. The carved head is some type of other wood and looks like it was added to the pediment later and is a different lighter color wood. The head is wearing some type of priest or bishop hat. It would make a beautiful accent piece or topper for an armoire, mirror, door frame or other project. This 1880s hard maple topper has applied trim of solid walnut and appears to have no finish at all with dry wood and some old paint rubs. It measures a very usable 49 ¾” long(48” without tenons) x 10 ¾” tall with a groove along the bottom edge suggesting this was the topper for a Victorian cottage headboard. Striking Antique 19th Century Victorian Era Hand Carved Wood Pediment Panel
Striking Antique 19th Century Victorian Era Hand Carved Wood Pediment Panel Ooooh. Got very lucky this week at one of my favorite flea markets. I have just about everything, from the very old and primitive to the very unique with some fabulous folk art thrown in too! I’ll be listing all week, so keep checking back! I'm telling you. I have some reeeeeeeally cool old pediments, architectural pieces and furniture parts this week- you want to check back for my other listings too! This one is so old, and so beautiful, I just can't say enough about it. It's also somewhat of a mystery to me. It was clearly a panel- my gut tells me in a cabinet rather than architectural(unless it was a built in, which it clearly could have been) You can see a smooth 1/4" border all around where the decorative texture of the center stops, and small ... morenail holes(like I'm showing in photo 13) all along the border from whatever it used to be mounted into. That part I GET. The mystery to me is on the backside, though, where you can also see a row of small nails all around, and there's teenie pieces of a black material( see photo 21) stuck under some of those nails still. Also, in the center, is a round piece of very hard old leather nailed into place- I don't THINK it has to do with the mounting of the carved pieces on the front, I can't be sure, but it appears to have had some other function at one point in time. Could this have been the front panel of a cabinet door with a fabric(or maybe padded fabric) door interior? I don't know for sure, and it's not telling me! I can tell you as of late, it's been hung as a decorative piece, as there's a modern day picture hanger on the back. The body is made from solid piece wood, with a beveled edge on three sides that bevels down to the smooth border with the nail holes. The fourth end, which is a short end, is not beveled. It has an extra piece of wood running the length of the wood which is not part of the solid body- see photo 17. You can see a teenie

SALVAGED FURNITURE HEAVILY CARVED WOOD PEDIMENT.ALMOST 17" WIDE. ABOUT 11" TALL. THIS IS THE SALVAGED TOP SECTION OF A LARGER PIECE. THE BOTTOM has some broken off pieces. they can be carved in a manner to be unnoticeable and could use some plastic wood as filler. and it can be made to be straight across the bottom with a little tlc. it is basically all there but does require some carving and filler touchup for the little missing pieces. the gold paint is exstensively chipped needs to be refinished. the back looks like some reinforcement wood was applied years ago to help keep it safe. there are no cracks. Just chips. there is a carved long neck flying goose at the bottom and carved flowers in vase at the top. with leaf and ribbon design through out. the pediment is about 1 1/4" to 2" thick at various areas. this is a ... morebeautiful piece to be restored. selling as is as a restoration project. shabby and chic.

Otherwise it is in good condition. We also have some other similar panels presently listed. We will gladly combine lots whenever possible to save on shipping costs.
