Gorgeous Antique Lions Head Drawer Pull Furniture Knob or Cabinet Door Pull We just got back from a wonderful vacation out to Wyoming and South Dakota. Stayed at a fabulous B&B in South Dakota- made even more heaven by the fact that they also had an antique store on the property. I shopped in several other locations in both states and brought home some great primitives. Advertising, pottery, and all in all interesting finds. Before I left, I went to a new farm auction, and an estate auction- so I have a BUNCH of new items this week- I’ll be posting every day, so be sure to check back! Now. I have a customer that buys lion related items, and that's who I was thinking of when I saw this beauty- but anyone will truly appreciate it. What I have is an antique drawer pull in the shape of a lion's head with the round pull handle in his ... moremouth. It measures 2 1/16" tall in all, with the round pull being the widest at 1 3/8" wide/diameter. The ring is made of steel that once(appears to have) had a brass colored finish. The lion is made of a metal that a magnet does not stick to- it's either spelter with a brass finish, or brass, with a very dark patina. I truly can't tell wich for sure, but my gut is the first one. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's a very dark patina, and light surface rust on the pull ring- very ligh. This one has loooots of character to spare. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! Here's a nice lot of 4. Small drawer or cabinet drawer backplates for you. They look very much like brass, but I do believe that they are white metal with a nice brass finish. You have to look very closely on the edges, and the inside of the center hole to see any wear. They are all marked KBC on the backside followed by either a 1 or a 2, and then the number, K-11531. Each one measures 6 1/2" long by 3/4" widest and each has a center hole that is 1/4" ... moresquare. Excellent solid and sturdy condition. Aside from the minor finish wear, no issues at all. 4 antique inlaid hardware drawer pull cabinet door knob furniture part salvage
Up for auction is this unique antique set of 4 inlaid knobs/pulls. They are beautiful. But very hard to get a good picture of. They have a heavy coat of clear finish, most likely a shellac. The main wood is either walnut or mahogany. The inlaid design is of a star like nautical themed. I suspect that they may have been top coated at one point because the edges on some are slightly wore off and no raw wood is showing. The pulls are large at approx. 2 1/4" dia by 1" high. This solid cast brass hardware item measures 2 1/8" x 1 1/2" on the back plate x 1" tall with 5/8" diameter knob. There are three mounting holes. The holes are 4mm diameter. No screws are included. The little tongue springs out 3/8" long and receeds inside all the way when you pull the knob to the side. This item is in original condition with aged patina but is functional.
