Stayed at a fabulous B&B in South Dakota- made even more heaven by the fact that they also had an antique store on the property. I shopped in several other locations in both states and brought home some great primitives. Advertising, pottery, and all in all interesting finds. I have a customer that buys lion related items, and that's who I was thinking of when I saw this beauty- but anyone will truly appreciate it. What I have is an antique drawer pull in the shape of a lion's head with the round pull handle in his ... moremouth. It measures 2 1/16" tall in all, with the round pull being the widest at 1 3/8" wide/diameter. The ring is made of steel that once(appears to have) had a brass colored finish. The lion is made of a metal that a magnet does not stick to- it's either spelter with a brass finish, or brass, with a very dark patina. I truly can't tell wich for sure, but my gut is the first one. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's a very dark patina, and light surface rust on the pull ring- very ligh. This one has loooots of character to spare. The two pieces sit and fit together as they should- one on each door side. When the clasp is closed and both pieces are together, it measures 3 3/16" long and 1 1/4" high. Up for auction is one very sweet wooden frame I would estimate was made in the 1880's-1890's. This frame is a very large 46" tall x 34" wide at the bottom x 39.25" wide at the topx 2.25" deep. Frame is in excellent condition except for a piece of rail that has been damaged. This is easily replaced and made perfect again. This frame is very tight. And I know how it will look against a painted wall or over a mantel as a mantel mirror, or as a large bathroom or entrance mirror. You will not find another on Ebay, it's very unique. 2 Walnut Antique Victorian cabinet door inserts w/ fancy carving
Offered for auction are these wonderful walnut cabinet door inserts. They appear to have come from sideboard cupboard base doors and were screwed in as evidenced by the screw holes. Also. The witness mark in a sinuous pattern even more solidifies my idea they were from a sideboard. Each door insert has a large shaped walnut burl veneer panel with a three dimensional carving glued to it. Looks like a lyre of some sort. One panel has a lobe missing on the glued on lyre. Original finish and would be super to hang on the wall or even put back into a door frame. 20 1/2" t by 18 1/2" w. Can be shipped in about 10 days.

Ornate, gothic carving all around the face with a textured background. The outside of the piece has a repeating fan design. Oak wood veneer tambour door. I have had this for several years and never used it. So it is not pristine but I saw no real flaws. Flat slats. Unfinished raw wood. Original. Victorian antique. 100+ year old, European cupboard door. Mostly quarter sawn oak construction with nice patina. In 2 places it has raised, beveled trim framing. Inside is elaborate, carving everywhere. Right top corner has cattails. Top left corner has leaves/stems/berries. In the middle is a fox( standing on ground foliage eating/drinking from an ornate urn. Very 3 dimensional, in person. Spectacular, ornate escutcheon intact. This is a large antique piece measuring 25 5/8 inches tall and 22 inches wide. I also have a second door from same cabinet also listed. Some room in either direction to cut down into custom size. Each shelf is 16-7/16 inches long. 11-7/16 inches deep at the center and 9-1/2 inches deep at the ends. Each wood shelf is ½ inch thick with a rounded front edge and square cut edges on the sides and back. The ash, elm, oak shelves have the original finish with some wear to the finish and some residue spills that were on the surface of the pieces when found. There are no cracks or splits in the wood and show little if any curling to the wood. They are an estate find, free of any offensive odors and from a nonsmoking home.
