VINTAGE 3 LEG BARLEY TWIST OAK PEDESTAL BASE
This is a really nice three leg oak base with a barley twist pedestal or column. It measures 16 1/2" high and from center to center of the legs is 11 1/2" and the top is 7" square. It is in good condition with no breaks or repairs. One of the little plastic buttons on the bottom of one leg is missing. We will gladly combine lots whenever possible to save on shipping costs. Up for auction is this set of 4 Antique Oak Barley Twist Legs with Glass Ball Metal Gargoyle Claw Feet. The oak wood is in its original finish and the claws are their original Gold color. All 4 of the glass balls are in very nice condition as the pictures show with no chips or cracks. Only the wear at the bottom. The legs measure 22 1/2" long to the claws and the balls are 3" across. 5 Antique Mahogany or Walnut Barley Twist Legs - Sideboards, Chairs, Projects
Offered for Auction: Set of 5 Mahogany or Walnut Baroque Revival Barley Twist Turned Furniture Legs or Posts. The legs or decorative elements were salvaged long before we found them so I am uncertain what type of furniture they came off of. They are in as found condition(I cleaned the heavy dust off of them but have not oiled or re-touched them) and they are still dirty. Four of the legs have threaded dowels in one end and all have open tapped(crudely threaded) holes in the other end. There is wear and tear and I am uncertain of their age or origin. They are very lightweight. Condition: Fair given their age. There are scratches. Nicks, dings and worn spots with some surface loss. The holes in the ends are misshapen and uneven. The finish is dull and crazed and there is dust in the grooves. The color varies a little from piece to piece. There ... moreis a powder post beetle hole in the leg without the dowel and it has the most wear and tear. Some of the ends are chewed up and one has a through and through split. 1890 J L MOTT Brass Jacobean Legs for Sink Support- Claw Foot. Barley Twist Leg Quite Rare. And very heavy, at 4 kg or about 7 pounds each The J. L. Mott Iron Works were located in Mott Haven. The Bronx, New York, and had a long history of high quality bathroom fittings. Thier history can be found through google search These are lettered above the twist in the leg- J.L. Mott Iron Works. Patented July 8th, 1890 They measure 28 3/4" tall plus a 1/2" peg at the top The brass curve is 1 5/8" wide. The twist is 1 3/8" wide The twist is 1 3/8" wide Total depth is 6" They have a triangular corner fitting inside the top. For what appears to be a marble sink top. The height inside the triangle is 6 3/4" including 1 3/4" depth inside the curve. These are in beautiful condition. With a nice patina. There are no ... morechips or cracks.
