Antique Singer treadle sewing machine base leg cast iron
Here is an Antique Singer treadle sewing machine cast iron leg. Good condition. Wheels turn free. It was repainted in a cream color a LONG time ago, which seems to have prevented rust. There are no cracks. It has a nice ring when tapped. Please see the photos for the size of this item. These were sold in several different sizes. This was used on a full size Singer. This piece is by the Lake Shore sewing machine company. And was manufactured by the Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett& Co manufacturers in Chicago, IL. This piece is a flip-top style machine that sits inside the cabinet and lifts out when you pull open the lid. The cabinet features four drawers and one small flip out compartment. The drawers have a variety of threads and sewing accessories included. The cabinet is a beautiful oak with a really nice patina on it, and really interesting ornate drawer handles. The cabinet sits on a beautiful, heavy cast iron base with the treadle ... morefor powering the sewing machine. This is a really beautiful machine and cabinet, and is a rare brand with some nice historical Chicago appeal. This would make a great addition to any vintage and antique sewing collection, and makes a beautiful display piece as is! Condition: This piece is antique and shows signs of wear from use over the years. The machine appears to work. And the needle raises and lowers when you push on the treadle. It may need some adjustment, alignment or other work to be in great working order, but we will leave that up to the new owners. The cabinet has some dings and nicks, but is in generally good condition. The machine could use a good cleaning, but overall is in good condition for its age. Antique New Home treadle sewing machine parlor cabinet shelf swing out drawers. Two of the drawers swing out. The other shelf is fixed. This is from a 1914 New Home machine. The rest of the cabinet is severely cracked and split. These are the only items I was able to salvage. I do not know if Singer brand used these same parts. It includes the screws I took out. Please look close at the pictures. They are not broken or cracked. Its sad someone used this cabinet to set potted plants on. The swing out piece measures 11 1/2 inches high x 9 inches wide.
