This ca. 1860-1875 solid walnut hand carved pediment in the rococo revival manner measures43 1/2" wide x 23" tall x 2" deep with the pierced and fruit carved removable section measuring app. 25" x 8 1/2" tall. The piece is in fairly well preserved condition with dry old refinished surface and some sratches. Gouges and scrapes from a recent move. There is a glued breaks in the openwork on one end, but no apparent loss. It most likely graced a stately bedstead or armoire and has a great rich look. This is a carved antique panel with a heavily carved crest and bottom medallion with a caned background. It measures 1 1/2" x 15 1/4" wide x 31" high and is in good condition. ANTIQUE SOLID WALNUT HAND CARVED FURNITURE PEDIMENT PIECES
Up for bid is several pieces of an antique solid walnut furniture pediment or gallery from a Victorian or Eastlake era piece of furniture. The pieces are primitively hand carved as well as hand made. And although there are a few missing pieces, there do seem to be enough to create a nice gallery around the top of a bureau, buffet, dresser, and/or etc. The pieces are approximately 1/2" in thickness by an overall length for the longest center piece of about 21" On some pieces there is carving on both sides. My guess is the carver was practicing or was doing"do overs" in order to get the best look that they wanted to achieve before finishing the piece. The top center carving piece does have a chip or missing piece of wood, though it does not take away from the overall glamour of the pieces. This is a very nice antique walnut desk insert with a drop down front and six small drawers. It was salvaged from a large two piece secretary desk. Most likely it is English. It measures aprox. 41 1/2" wide x 15" deep, 21 1/4" deep with the front dropped down x 7 3/4" high and the writing surface is 14" deep. It has dovetailed drawers, nice drawer pulls and brass latches that hold the front in place. The leather on top is cracked in the center, the small brackets on one of the open cubbyholes are missing and there is a scratch or gouge on the left side of the carved front that extends to the center which you can see in the pictures, part of the bottom board is missing as well. Antique Eastlake Victorian SOLID WALNUT Carved& Inlaid FURNITURE FRONT PART The overall length is 24" and the width is 2" The thickness is 3/4" measurement is 13 3/4" and the tapered tips that extend into the chair slots are just a bit more that 1/2" long. This is a typical American Eastlake Victorian furniture part. The long grooves are typical as are the style of the carvings that either represent flowers or cherries. Also the strip of fancy burl grain which is overlaid in the 1" x 8" center rectangle is typical of Eastlake Victorian style. I do not know what piece of furniture this item was attached to. There is a wooden(walnut wood also) mounting bracket on the back and deep-set dadoes on each end that were used for mounting. Condition: This piece is in relatively good condition for its age. This 1880s hard maple topper has applied trim of solid walnut and appears to have no finish at all with dry wood and some old paint rubs. It measures a very usable 49 ¾” long(48” without tenons) x 10 ¾” tall with a groove along the bottom edge suggesting this was the topper for a Victorian cottage headboard. Antique Hand Carved Dark Walnut Floral Furniture Applique
This auction is for a beautiful. Handcarved dark walnut floral furniture applique that measures 5 3/4" x 5" A hook was installed on the back for hanging purposes. It protrudes ever so slightly through the front of the carving. The resultant hole wold not be noticeable if the hook was removed. The original finish would be much more lustrous if it was waxed well. I will not be available from July 15- July 19. I will respond ti your inquiries no larwe rhan July 20. It measures 44" wide. 41" wide at the bottom x 8" high x 6" deep. Overall it is in good condition. Looking at the bottom you can see that it was attached to a larger piece. We will gladly combine lots whenever possible to save on shipping costs.
