Mixed Lot of 6 Primitive Antique 19th Century Turned Wood Furniture Finials I have to tell you about the auction that I went to this week. It was in Geneva Illinois. In a sandstone building that was built before the Civil War. The sale was the final liquidation of an antique store(they‘d had one previous auction- so much stuff, they had to have two) that used to operate out of this location- but the building has been closed, as well as the business, for over 20 years following the passing of the previous owners. Now, we’re talking two stories, an attic and a basement PACKED with antiques- it’s hard to imagine, and all of it just sitting for two decades. These folks had amassed a huge antique collection- many many items dating back to the early 1800s and before. There’s some gorgeous pieces of primitive Americana that I found. I can’t tell ... moreyou how excited I am to be listing my treasures from the sale. I will be listing them for weeks to come. I also have the last of my farm auctions and South Dakota finds listed this week, so there’s something for everyone! O.K. I was saying in my last listing that I purchased a box lot of old finials and paired those matching ones together to sell, and then planned to sell the not matching ones as a lot. The two that are in the first photo, I originally planned to sell separately, but changed my mind just now as they really are different sizes, and a little bit different shape on top, so I decided to throw them in with the lot of 2 that I have in my second photo- that's how I'm coming up with 6 finials in total for this auction. Please ask me if this is confusing in any way. The finials in the first photo are similar enough that I believe they were used together and more than likely made by the same hand. All of the finials date back to the 1800s and all of them are made of solid turned wood. For the 1st photo finials; I have one measuring 5 3/8" tall by 1 3/8" diameter at the bottom. antique cast brass hairy paw table leg feet caps with wheels. the only identifying mark on them is the#s 3212 stamped in several places on each foot. these are guaranteed authentic early 1800's feet.I removed them myself from a large console table frame I bought at a long since departed antique warehouse near here called Merrits Antiques.They sold many furniture pieces from Europe and local that were in various states of disrepair.The frame was early Duncan Pyphe in style in solid mahogany(I still have at least 2 of the legs)The table probably once supported a marble top which due to its weight had destroyed the center connector for the legs.I bought it specifically for the feet.Never used them now they are for sale.The only thing not complete original is that one of the brass wheels was replaced long ago with an iron one.uniquely each ... morewheel has a little back roller to help support it and keep it from digging into the foot base.Very nice design.Hairy paw design is nice deep relief work.they are very sturdy heavy brass(about 1 lb each) capable of handling some weight. The original table was about 5 feet long and 2feet deep. I warrant these authentic or your money back.

Antique Mid to Late 19th Century Glass Drawer Pulls
Nice matching set of mid to late 1800's glass drawer pulls. 2 very close sizes here- 4 are 2 5/16" and 4 are 2 1/8" all the same pattern. They stand 1 1/2" from surface. Striking Antique 19th Century Victorian Era Hand Carved Wood Pediment Panel
Striking Antique 19th Century Victorian Era Hand Carved Wood Pediment Panel Ooooh. Got very lucky this week at one of my favorite flea markets. I have just about everything, from the very old and primitive to the very unique with some fabulous folk art thrown in too! I’ll be listing all week, so keep checking back! I'm telling you. I have some reeeeeeeally cool old pediments, architectural pieces and furniture parts this week- you want to check back for my other listings too! This one is so old, and so beautiful, I just can't say enough about it. It's also somewhat of a mystery to me. It was clearly a panel- my gut tells me in a cabinet rather than architectural(unless it was a built in, which it clearly could have been) You can see a smooth 1/4" border all around where the decorative texture of the center stops, and small ... morenail holes(like I'm showing in photo 13) all along the border from whatever it used to be mounted into. That part I GET. The mystery to me is on the backside, though, where you can also see a row of small nails all around, and there's teenie pieces of a black material( see photo 21) stuck under some of those nails still. Also, in the center, is a round piece of very hard old leather nailed into place- I don't THINK it has to do with the mounting of the carved pieces on the front, I can't be sure, but it appears to have had some other function at one point in time. Could this have been the front panel of a cabinet door with a fabric(or maybe padded fabric) door interior? I don't know for sure, and it's not telling me! I can tell you as of late, it's been hung as a decorative piece, as there's a modern day picture hanger on the back. The body is made from solid piece wood, with a beveled edge on three sides that bevels down to the smooth border with the nail holes. The fourth end, which is a short end, is not beveled. It has an extra piece of wood running the length of the wood which is not part of the solid body- see photo 17. You can see a teenie
