The legs have a metal foot on them but one is missing. Two of the legs have a grooved or fluted front on them. See pics, these were probably the front legs. The legs are grooved for attaching the legs to the skirt? The groove is approx. 8" long. On the backs of the fluted legs they are cut back approx. 5 3/8" for 2 mounting holes and the other 2 legs are cut back approx. 8" for 2 mounting holes, see pics. A set of four iron and porcelain wheel case furniture casters. The wheels are 1 1/2" diameter and 7/8" wide. The iron shafts of the casters are 3" long and 1/2" diameter at the fattest point. Lots of large case pieces(dressers. Armoires, beds, buffets) had metal hollows in the bottom of their legs and feet made for casters such as these. All wheels spin freely. Set of 4 Vintage White Porcelain Furniture Wheel Casters #1
I've sold many of these porcelain wheels and there are a couple of things I've seen that is common with most all of them as old as these casters are. These were hand forged and will not be a perfect matching set. Some shafts are slightly longer or larger than others and there will almost always be chips and broken pieces on the wheels. After all, they are porcelain and fragile. All the sets I have listed have these common flaws, so look at the pics closely, they are not perfect by any means but they all do still roll. Made of Marlex Phillips 66 as advertised on the card and also advertised as non marking 3 inch diameter wheels. Two wheels are white and moderately see through. The other two are yellowish(by design) and are also moderately see through. These are not the glitter type wheel. The wheels and metal fenders are old but in brand new fantastic condition as shown. The posts appear to me more of a tin metal type material and suffer from surface rust as shown from many years of storage. At the time of this listing, I have 6 sets of these.
