Rough and oxidized, the surface has a nice appeal and growing patina that is very attractive. Intricately carved of the solid, the apron is a complex swirl of foliage with intermingled vines and flowers, flanked by the robust C-scroll carved knees with florals draping amongst scattered acanthus. The legs have a fine cabriole form, tapering softly into the high acanthus ankle and scrolled french toes. Plain molding frames the solid slab of white marble, supported from beneath by an x-stretcher, such that the marble can support great weight with no difficulty. It is a very attractive painted piece for the interior designer or anyone with a Rococo or Louis XV style in their home. Typically used as a hall table, centered in a large entryway with something magnificent on top of it, this table also works well between a pair of chairs or beside a large sofa. Measurements: 36" x 36" top diameter) x 30 1/4" high Condition Report: All leg joints reglued with some glue remaining visible. Resulting in a very sturdy and stable structure. The"X" stretcher beneath the marble is probably added or at least strengthened. Marble top with just minor discolorations. Fine Miniature French Louis XVI Style Paravan[Dressing Screen] Teal& Gilt Decorated Surfaces Carved Ram's Head Corners Item# 130005YLP20 This is a gorgeous and unique French Louis XVI Style Carved and Painted Paravan[Mirrored Dressing Screen] from the late 19th-early 20th Century. Most notably. The stature of the piece is diminutive if not miniature, making it a piece that does not dominate or define a room. The panels are each double-hinged, allowing you to flexibly place the panels in whatever configuration works best for the overall design of your room. The frame is exquisite. Entirely hand carved of the solid(not applied or gessoed) with highly complex woodwork- the top is a tall arched wreathe of flowers with intermingled foliage over a gilded ribbon tied in a bow, these flowing outward along the frame over a gilt-highlighted ... morebeaded trim that frames the entire paravan. Flanking the crest are two flamed gilt finials stepping down in large curled acanthus formations at the corner of the left and right panels that work effectively to transition from the raised middle panel to the lower side panels. Both the left and right panels are completed with projecting carved Ram's Heads over a complex array of foliage and roses. Rosettes corner each of the mirrored panels amidst double-beaded borders. The front and back of each panel has a fine upholstery with gold trim. The frame resting over acanthus carved french feet. This is a precious little piece. Accomplished in every regard and of exceptional quality. The gray-teal painted surface remains in excellent condition and is very attractive. It is a rare treasure for which you will find countless design applications for in your home. French Louis XV Carved Gilt Screen Dressing Panel Embroidery Hand Painted w MOP
RARE stunning antique Louis XV French 3 panel divider screen. It is very old and in immaculate condition for its age. This particular divider has several exquisite detailed features. I’ve never seen such detail on one of these screens. Mid panel there is enclosed a mother of pearl fan that is hand painted. The detail of the painting is exquisite. Each panel has intricate hand embroidered floral scene on felted wool. Bottom of each panel is gorgeous silk purple velvet. Entire piece is framed in beautiful carved gold gilt wood. Color is a nice bronze gold. It is a gorgeous patina. Measurements: 39 ½” height. 49 ¾” total length across all panels opened. Left and right side panels measure 13 ¾” length. Mid panel 22” in length. Total weight = 14.6 lbs. The screen looks great displayed on table as a work of art. It is in impeccable ... morecondition for its age with all embroidery in tact. Normal wear for its age. No breaks whatsoever. I’ve provided many images for viewing but pictures do not do this beautiful piece any justice!
