This well-cared-for California Mission style hand-painted dresser. Was purchased from a high-end antique shop in Sacramento, CA in 1990. It has since graced one of the guestrooms and has only been used a few times, so it is in just beautiful vintage condition. The tag from the antique store is still on the back of the mirror and it says"Monterey Bedroom Set" That is the only marking or signage I can find on any of the furniture. It is all made out of pine(with a light secondary wood inside the drawers) so is fairly light weight, and shows the wonderful knots and grain of the pine wood. The hand painting and carving is just charming, in muted greens, yellows, and coral. the handles on the dresser are carved wood and the apron of the dresser has beautiful detail as does the dresser top and all the pieces really. I love the beige, ... moreblonde, light tan wood stain. There are very few nicks and scratches, it is almost vintage pristine. The back of the dresser shows some water stains. I don't know what this is from, as it was there when I bought it and doesn't show as the back is against the wall. This set includes the headboard(I have it on a queen bed at this time, but it was org. made for a full; but can also be used on a queen) the headboard is currently secured to the wall with two screws.
